Around 11:30pm on the second night, we were woke up by a loud knocking on the door. I opened the door to someone shining a flashlight in my eyes demanding the IDs for my two adult children. Guy gets angry when I ask him why this can’t wait until morning. To this point, he hasn’t identified himself - it is Mexico, it is almost midnight, I just tell him no and shut the door. He kicks the door, then turns around and gets into a loud conversation with another guest across the way. My son and I pushed the breakfast table against the door and tried to get back to sleep.
Fast forward to two days later, I finally get a reply from management telling me their security guard had been following protocol. Huh?
It was a nice place right on the beach, close to most of the tourist shopping and restaurants. But really, who cares if you are staying at a place where management hires and excuses employees who act like that? After finding out the man worked at the hotel, it was truly strange to think, “Thank God the guy worked there”, because it felt like a Mexico horror story you see on the news from time to time. Shame on management.
