Malaga Hotels

With balmy, Mediterranean temperatures all year round, it's easy to see why tourists flock to Malaga. With a number of beautiful sun-bronzed beaches that stretch out into the glittering crystal waters of the Med, you'll also find a hive of activity in the city itself. There's a wealth of cooling bars to offer a brief respite from the heat, where you can enjoy a zesty cocktail, and grab some zesty fresh seafood before exploring the many museums and historical sites.

Things to see

A visit to Malaga simply wouldn't be complete without a visit to the beach. The soft golden hues of Malagueta Beach, the main beach in the city, have plenty of space for building sandcastles with the kids or soaking up the sun, and offer a great view of the clustered high rise buildings that line Malaga's coast. You can also find a number of more secluded, peaceful beaches a little further along the coastline. The city itself has plenty to offer too. The intricate renaissance stonework of the cream shaded Malaga Cathedral provides a wondrous sight both inside and out, and is a must see for history enthusiasts. The Cathedral is also located in the city centre, so you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the shops and cafés, too. The renowned artists Picasso was born in Malaga, and art lovers will want to visit the elegant Picasso Museum.

Where to stay

If you're looking to catch the maximum amount of rays, then you'll want to be as close to the beach as possible. Luckily, there's some good places to stay along Paseo De Sancha that not only have great views of the shimmering coast, but place you mere moments from Malagueta Beach. For quick and easy access to everything the city has to offer, from the colourful, expressive artworks or the Picasso Museum, to the bars and nightlife, then there's plenty of accommodation in the Historico Centrico. For a more secluded experience, head out of town to the Parque Del Oeste area.

How to get to Malaga

Malaga AGP is one of the largest airports in Spain, so if you're travelling internationally this is the place to head to. From the airport, there's plenty of travel links into the city, including train, bus and taxi services. Malaga train station also offers services to towns further along the coast such as Torremolinos, so day trips are nice and straight forward. In the city itself, cycling is very popular with the locals, and there's a good supporting infrastructure for cyclists. It's certainly a great way to see the city, and you can also enjoy the panoramic sights of the coastal roads
