Okay stay
Not much furniture in the rooms and some of the amenities that were supposed to be offered were not. No continental breakfast, the hotel phone didn’t work, one of the lamps didn’t work. There was only 1 chair at the dinner table and we kept getting one big towel and one small town for when our place was cleaned. The bed was extremely low to the floor at well making it a little bit of an effort to get up off of it. Other than those things the front desk attendants were nice, and they did let us leave our bags so we could see the city. They also let us check in an hour early since our room was ready. More ideal furniture would be great because there was nothing comfortable to sit on and maybe some silverware And a bigger TV for the unit as well. All in all we really just needed a place to stay for the night so I’d stay here again if I had to. Just would like to get what I pay for since it’s so expensive to stay in the city.

Never again
The place was pretty good, but the service and assistance was poor. We couldn't get anyone to answer the phone for a few days before our arrival, then there was no TV during our stay and no internet for the first day. I had to shuffle down to the lobby at night to get updates on internet, after leaving 2 messages with the front desk that were not returned. Upon out departure, the manager (Maria) spoke with us and promised to adjust the bill. I wanted a free night. No adjustment made, and now she doesn't work there anymore. Oh and she had only been there 2 weeks when I spoke to her. Beware of future stays, as there is going to be a bunch of construction in the spring. Plus they are a WeWork building, so there's that issues as well.

Weird experience, wouldn't stay again
This hotel feels like a starkly decorated apartment building that they are using to rent out some rooms in addition to housing tenants. Waited 25 minutes for someone to come out to check in. When I checked in, the front desk staff person silently held out his hand, expecting me to hand him my credit card, without communicating that's what he wanted. The rooms were pretty clean, but barely decorated. Disappointed in the service and quality for what I paid.

Great location, great snacks, friendly front desk!
The front desk staff were all super friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy and quick. The hotel is located off a major street in a busy part of town but I heard minimal street noise. The room is super spacious. Full-sized bathroom (none of that toilet in the shower type thing) and the provided toiletries seemed above average. The bed and comforter were very comfortable. Floor to ceiling windows gave us great views of the bustling city street - 4 floors up. Super convenient location - about a 2 minute walk from the Grand St subway station which is like a 12 minute train ride from Midtown. This will be my top hotel choice when visiting NYC in the future!

We stayed for two nights at 138 Bowery. Front office staff were helpful and very friendly. The bed was super comfy. The room was sparsely decorated in an appealing way and had a nice selection of snacks, drinks and toiletries. It was a touch run down in places (scratches/dents on the walls, towels with some light stains) but clean and met all of our needs. It was also in a great location, right near the corners of Little Italy and Chinatown, with plenty of great restaurants within walking distance.

Great place to stay
It was a good hotel, very clean. I wished it had a desk for business travelers but besides that I found the location good as it was walking distance to restaurants. I would stay here again when I am back in NY
