Positioned away from the noise of the main town, on a quite road. The staff are helpful, friendly. Easy walk to the action.
1) no bed side lights... only light in bedroom are two bright overhead lights, and you have to get out of bed and lean over the fridge to switch off or walk to the door. Staff said "well he thinks something is wrong because all the other rooms have bedside lights"
2). The safe - it's there, batteries were flat. Staff fiddled,, then said it was broken, I wasn't to worry because they had never had an incident. That's great, until something does happen, I asked if they could take care of my valuables, after realising I had quite a lot of cash, they declined. Note, upon leaving the hotel, the lock on the gate was sticking, rather a large, serious looking lock, and the gentlemen said yes... for security!
3). Room wasn't serviced... not sure if that was made clear in the listing, but It's kind of a minimum expectation in these "boutique" hotels.
4). Hot water, or rather NO hot water. Staff firstly explained that the hot water had to come from the other side of the hotel... you know... silly engineers. The amount of water that was wasted while we waited for the hot water (that never arrived) to arrive was criminal.
I have the feeling the staff KNOW about all these problems but continue to take bookings, and are providing less than promised. Pity... otherwise loads of potential.
