nice place
It was easy to reach hotel and the quality was way good compared to its price. Staff was helpful and friendly. I’d stay here again.

So, so. No frills, but clean. Walls way too thin.
We stayed here for more than a week. Pros: Clean, provides basics, friendly staff, WiFi in rooms Cons: Paper thin walls and doors as if rooms were divided by curtain only. You hear every word spoken by neighbor without trying. Super annoying. Only one pillow per bed. No chance to prop up to read or anything while on bed. We did not visit restaurant, cannot comment, though, it costs 13 Euros per person. For half that you can find something at local bakery or elsewhere. Location is good with connections to public transport to down town in about 20 minutes. Unless you know the area, it would be challenging to find restaurants within walking distance. Area is mainly residential, not tourist oriented.

Poor 2.0
city hotel Berlin east
Poor signage to reception for the hotel .Room had poor bedding and pillows were very soft and for a 4 star hotel ,there was no tea or coffee making equipment ,no ironing facilities which you usually get with 4 star hotels

Good 6.0
Decent stay, not overly impressed
This review is not just for City Hotel, but it’s shared-property Holiday Inn as well. When we arrived, check-in for both hotels is at the same counter. It took FOREVER. After getting a key to our room, we realized that the entire floor was smoking (I requested non-smoking during our booking) so we had to go back to the check-in counter. I should mention that City Hotel was full of young adults carrying bags of liquor up to their rooms. It seemed to be a constant flow of partiers in that building so I’m glad we moved. Thankfully Holiday Inn tried to remedy the situation and “upgraded” us from City Hotel to Holiday Inn. This was much better, though the room itself was more or less the same. Views were really great from the 12th floor, parking wasn’t bad (but not free), and the area is centralized and close to many things.

Poor 2.0
Horrible customer service
No hot water, phone broken in the room. When dialed the hotel number, they'd cut out on me once they knew it was a complaint.

Outdated.
The stay was good but its abit outdated. I had to use a key to get in my room. Which means the staff could get in too. There was no safe or anything to ensure security in my room. No boiler or mini bar.

Good, can improve
Location it's alright, staff it's friendly but it's confusing that the reception is at the Holiday Inn, also WiFi wasn't included

Fair 4.0
Probably ok in winter. Not good value for money
Very warm rooms - warmer than outside (in mid June) and air conditioning was so weak - even on full blast at 18 degrees - it might as well have been off. Did not sleep well as a result. Overpriced water in room tasted horrible but we raised the issue and were not charged. Good shower, spacious room (2 chairs, desk). Insanely old and slow tv (German channels only). Wi-Fi in the room cost extra. Tram stop nearby but no shops / restaurants nearby and the hotel restaurant closes at 11.
