Great hotel in Berlin's shopping district
Nice hotel, just off Kurfurstendam, the main shopping area in Berlin. Decent sized room, very comfortable bed and a great bathroom, double sinks & separate shower. Arrived very late (1am) and was met by the smiling Felix at the Front Desk. He was fantastic and spent time explaining the city and giving reccommendations of things to do, a great start to our stay. Didn't dine in-house as there are many, many eateries in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The main historic areas are all over in the East (Mitte District) but a daily S/U Bahn pass (€7) gives you easy access to the whole city. My advice would be to forget the U Bahn station on Kurfurstendam, closest to the hotel, but to walk a block or so to Zoologicer Garten where you have a much wider choice of lines, the U2 line to Alexander Platz taking you to the heart of the action.

The Sofitel is a very comfortable hotel, rooms are spacious and well equipped. Only a five minute walk to the Zoo bus station where there are links all over Berlin. It’s about 4km from the Brandenburg Gate.

Wow. I had only stayed at the Sofitel in London's Heathrow T-5 before. This Sofitel was nothing short of magnificent. The location, basically on Berlin's best shopping street (Kurfurstendamm (also known as K Damm) was perfect. Right across the street from Five Guys and around the corner from the Hard Rock Cafe. The staff was superb. Christian, the brilliant concierge, made my trip incredible. His choice of places to eat and easy to get there directions, OH WOW. Go there, you will not regret it. I loved my stay at the Sofitel Berlin.
