The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a landmark graveyard that remains a functioning funeral home and gravesite, but the public is still welcome to come to tour this unique attraction. It's an iconic spot in historic Hollywood where many come to visit and explore what famous names they can find from the early days of celebrity fame.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery has also become an entertainment venue that hosts live events throughout the year and special summer film viewings. You can experience current cultural events with concerts, classic film screenings, lectures, and so much more.

Highlights of Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Hollywood Forever Cemetery has been a place of lasting solitude and refuge for over 100 years and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can meander across acres of open-air green space and witness the expressive monuments that are consistent with the Hollywood flare that the world loves.

Amongst the highlights of the cemetery’s cultural events are the classic Hollywood film screenings where attendees flock to grab space on the lawn after sunset and enjoy an outdoor film with live music and, oftentimes, special guests. Another exciting cultural event here is the annual Dia de Los Muertos in November.

Helpful to know when visiting Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Hollywood Forever does currently function as a full-service funeral home and cemetery, so visitors are asked to exercise discretion when touring the grounds. Most of the cultural events require tickets or reserved seats, so visitors should check ahead of time. Private events can be hosted here as well.

The cemetery is easy to locate, as it’s on Santa Monica Boulevard, in between city centre LA and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When you visit, you can pick up a detailed map and walking guide to show some of the resting places of many of Hollywood’s most cherished icons. Guided tours are available and can be scheduled ahead of time.
