Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden highlights

One of the most impressive aspects of the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is its conservation efforts. Many of the rare plants on display are specifically cultivated to avoid the extinction of their species. Amongst the displays, you'll find one of the largest collections of tropical bamboo in the world with 125 unique species.

When you come here, you may also want to visit the butterfly house. Known as Wings of the Tropics, here you'll find a wide variety of butterflies with species hailing from all over the world. They have 25,000 square feet in total in which to fly about.

When you stop by the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, there are a few tips to keep in mind. If you want to see the butterflies freely flying around in the butterfly garden, you'll need to visit when they get released either in the morning or the afternoon. There's an outdoor butterfly garden as well.

Access to this garden isn't free, but you'll find extensive opportunities for discounts. You can get a AAA discount and a discount for eco-friendly travel. The latter simply means they'll take some off the ticket price if you arrive via public transport or ride a bike.
