Learn more about Brooklyn

Crossing the iconic Brooklyn Bridge rewards with Manhattan skyline views that explain why locals never tire of this commute. Hipster haven Williamsburg buzzes with vintage shops and bearded baristas who take coffee more seriously than most people take religion. Prospect Park offers Frederick Law Olmsted's 'other masterpiece' - he actually preferred it to Central Park. The Brooklyn Museum houses treasures without Manhattan's crowds, while Coney Island's Luna Park delivers nostalgic thrills alongside Nathan's famous hot dogs. Barclays Centre brings world-class entertainment, but true Brooklyn reveals itself in area pizzerias where families have guarded secret recipes for generations. Brighton Beach serves authentic Russian fare in restaurants where English remains strictly optional.

Essence Hotel

8/10 Good
"Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Rooms are pretty tiny, bed takes up most of the space and there is no room to sit/walk to the other side of the bed (I had a twin bed for 2 people) But if you are looking for a great location (right next to Brooklyn) and are only coming to the hotel to sleep and will be out most of the day, this is a great hotel. The place is very clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and accommodated us very well in terms of having a late checkout, keeping our luggage for storage, etc. I would definitely recommend if the price is good per night."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Brooklyn

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Brooklyn is between January and March, as hotel prices tend to be lower during these months. For a thorough exploration of the area’s historical landmarks, cultural sites, and stunning scenery, staying for at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. This budget-friendly duration allows visitors to enjoy iconic skyscrapers, charming cafés, lively entertainment, art displays, and picturesque sunsets, all while making the most of their trip without overspending. By planning a visit during this period, travellers may benefit from great value for money and potentially reduced costs.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Brooklyn, start by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, helping you to seize savings opportunities. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're informed about price drops or availability changes for your preferred hotels, making it easier to plan your spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a Brooklyn hotel. For those seeking unique experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised atmosphere and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we could suggest more affordable dates, making it more likely you'll secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Brooklyn's outstanding public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
