Straitview Ridge Bed & Breakfast

The proprietors are consumate hosts, loved the views and the property as a whole. Very good value for one's travel dollar!

Awesome place right off the coast up the hill. (important as it can be quite cold right off the water). Beds could use an upgrade to memory foam or something more sturdy.

Beautiful view of the Bay. Quiet and surrounded with flowers. Very clean room and bathroom. The breakfast was complete with fruits cut to perfection and home made muffins and the coffee was delicious. Our hostess gave us a lot of tips to enjoy the Sooke area. The food at the supermarket on Sooke not only delicious but well priced. You can find a bank and gas stations in Sooke. We loved our stay and feel confortable in this house. Wi-fi worked perfectly. Great people and good location for exploring Juan de Fuca and also Victoria

We stayed in the Sunset Suite and the view was spectacular. We had unseasonable weather for November and we were able to sit out on the deck and star gaze both nights. The breakfasts were awesome and Janine and Bill are excellent hosts.

Maybe we should have read the reviews before booking but lesson learned, not only was it so far away but you can't get cellphone service in the area took us an hour to get there in the middle of nowhere. Finally got there we were told to take off our shoes as if we were in Asia then the mistake I made was paying before we spent a night in the house, we went out for late lunch and because of the location we bought food for later on when we went back to the house I asked for plates to my surprise they don't have plates, and we have to eat outside because she already fix the table for breakfast and we had to put our food outside on the bench that was there I was so upset we threw the food away after we were told that we had up on till 7:30pm to eat. Maybe it's because I was black I don't know but that was my experience in that place and they're nosey want to know where we going or when we coming back, after the first night I was done the only reason why I stayed was because they're not going to get my money for free.

Great location with views to the sea. Lovely room very spacious and cosy with a balcony to look over the area. Lots to do here with local beaches and great wildlife. Breakfast was great and not rushed with lots of coffee.

We had the Sunset Room for three nights. We did indeed see a few sunsets, which was great. The hosts were very helpful in suggesting local tourist attractions. The breakfasts were very tasty using local produce.

We stayed for 3 Nights September 05 to 08, 2018. We loved the spectacular views of the Ocean and the yard has beautiful Flowers and the Tomatoes from the own Garden was very delicious. The room was clean and a little bit small, but worked out for us. The breakfast every day was also delicious, we loved the blueberry pancake. and from our whole vacation, I can say, this was the best place we had in Vancouver Island. Thank you very much for wonderful 3 Days.
