A pleasant surprise!
We had an excellent stay over the May long weekend. We enjoyed two nights in the Balmoral suite due to a fortunate circumstance provided by the hotel. We had originally booked the Newcastle room. The suite was perfect for us. Our kids would have spent the whole weekend in the room if we had allowed it. However, the hotel was in such an excellent location we spent one afternoon to the West of the hotel at the breakwater and house boats and one day to the east at Beacon hill park and the museum. We walked everywhere and were able to keep our car parked in the hotel’s parking garage. The staff were friendly and helpful and we found everything in the hotel clean and in working condition. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful but disappointing.
This is a buitiful looking hotel, and I knew I wasn’t going to get newly upgraded suites but I was extremely disappointed that I had either freezing or scalding hot water in my shower. I told the front desk when I checked out and they weren’t even going to offer to do anything until I prompted. It was a terrible started to a vacation and I walked around feeling less than squeaky clean because I could barely shower. I know not everything goes according to plan but there was a lack of empathy.

The hotel is in a perfect place for exploring Victoria. The hotel is clean and the rooms have everything you need. The front desk staff are terrific and very professional. The only sort of complaint I have is that the beds were not particularly comfortable.
