Perfect for a stopover
Perfect for a stopover visiting bath. Room was good size and very large bathroom, but there was a slight musty smell and the bathroom was very cold as the only form of heating was the towel rail which wasn’t working properly. Lovely old building and very helpful staff.

Enjoyable stay
We had a seamless, comfortable stay in a beautiful room - 35. I left behind and the hotel boxed it up for Royal Mail to collect and it was received within 3 days. Very pleased!

Weekend break
We stayed for 2 nights at the coach house, lovely spacious room and king size bed. The receptionist was very friendly on our arrival and took the time to show us 2 different rooms. The only slight moans I would have were, I had to call twice to ask for teabags to be replenished and the shampoo dispenser was terrible. Also, the room was cold in the morning when the heating went off. But those things didn’t spoil our time there. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay there again.

Would recommend
An overnight stay and no breakfast but we were very comfortable. Our room was very clean and we were welcomed at reception. The building is interesting historically. We would definitely stay again.

Helpful staff, comfortable hotel.
Our room was at the top of the hotel and was spacious and comfortable but a bit cold. However, when we told the staff they immediately brought us an oil filled radiator which helped. We ate our evening meal here and it was tasty and hot. Breakfast buffet was a bit tired as we came down just after a coach of people had finished but the staff were very helpful and kept offering to fetch us anything we needed. All staff went out of their way to be helpful and we felt they were genuinely friendly. This was much nicer than a box chain hotel where all teh rooms are the same and it is all impersonal. If we need a hotel in the Bath area again we will defintely return. Reasonably priced and great to be in walking distance of stunning Bradford on Avon.

A little tired grand old country house hotel
Stayed here to celebrate a special occasion, we were given the honeymoon suite which is a lovely room, with a 4 poster bed, a roll top bath a stunning views. Downside is the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever had in a hotel, had to ask the housekeeper for a spare duvet to put under us, I'd recommend a mattress topper at the very least. I'd suggest a new mattress. The shower does not drain properly and overflows the tray, someone came to "fix" it, but it made no difference. However he was hotel staff snd not a plumber. No lift, and stairs are not in the best condition, in desperate need of re carpeting as they are threadbare, not just worn. The upstairs rooms are definitely not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility. The hotel is lovely, but tired and in need of a little tlc to bring it up to standard. Breakfast was good, it's self service but well cooked and a good variety. Its obviously a wedding venue, and that is clearly what it does best. I'd avoid staying there if there was a wedding as there is no soundproofing. Staff polite and friendly. Reslly made a difference. Overall it was a lovely stay, the hotel just needs a bit of investment.

October mid week stay for 2 nights
Efficient service, with friendly staff. Rooms comfortable, quirky though a little tired and heating was efficient. Good buffet breakfast choice and evening meals were all excellent. Good location for driving to Bath and walking in to Bradford on Avon.

Beautiful building - needs some care
A beautiful house and location with so much potential. It just needs a bit of love and attention. Perfectly comfortable, but somewhat outdated. The staff were friendly. Some lovely grounds, with beautiful old trees - the vineyard was disappointing, and the walled garden could offer so much more as a potential kitchen garden…as is, it was just quite unloved and full of rotten fruit. What a shame! The train into bath was easy, and B-O-A is beautiful.

Absolutely stunning Georgian mansion converted to a hotel and winery. Separate glass roofed dining pavilion. Beautiful views across the valley from the large windows. One amazing place! You feel like landed gentry staying here (but the price was very reasonable) A must do if you are travelling through this area and not far from Bath.

4/10 Fair

I do not understand why country hotels that have lots of weddings put non-wedding guests right next to the entertainment! Especially as we booked well in advance. The noise banged through the room walls; & the guests all came outside the venue right underneath our window to argue, throw up & generally shout at each other all the way into the small hours (both nights we were there). Dining options were limited (early closing restaurant & room service was 'crisps'). Room had no central heating just an electric radiator that crackled when turned on so needed turning off to sleep. On asking if they had another room we were shown a different one that stank of damp & was right by the front door with headlights coming through from the cars & noise from the neighbouring room, so we declined. Parking was pretty tight to get a spot. Breakfast was the highlight. When checking-out I offered feedback & was invited to leave my email address so the manager could write to me. I've had no contact.
