This is a basic service but convenient to Old Trafford
Overall nice stay and found staff to be friendly and efficient.
I liked the price and the ease of check-in. Also, the housekeeping staff were very respectful and did not badger the guest trying to access the room in order to clean it. I used the door-hanger notice to signal when I was absent so they could enter at a time of their convenience.
We booked The Ibis as it was close to Old Trafford, walking distance. Even though our checkin was 2 pm the receptionist left us checkin at 12. Room was ok for myself and my 2 teenage sons, 1 double bed and a single bunk. Very comfortable, clean, warm, cozy, had a tiny toilet and separate shower. There wasn’t any real wardrobe as such, just a rail and a few hangers, for three people in the room it could have done with more storage for clothes. There was a table and tv, reception on most of the channels was very poor but thankfully there were 3 channels that provided enough entainment. Housekeeping as with any other accomodation came early but allowed a humorous sign to be placed on the door to let them know if we didn’t want to be disturbed, the other side saying that they could come in when we were out, I did but when we came back they hadn’t. Next morning when I heard them outside I just asked for change of towels, soap and toilet paper which he was happy to give he said he would drop back later to give the room a clean which he did, he forgot to make the top bed on 2 occasions though. I would definitely recommend the Ibis, for going into city center though be ready to pay between 3-9 pounds for an Uber one way. But very reasonably priced and has tescos a few minuits walk from it for some snacks. Would come back again
A single bed on a wall over a double bed, what more can one say....
I stay in a lot of ibis hotels for work and leisure. However, I have to say I was a bit disappointed in this hotel. The rooms and halls need an overall update. Also, the breakfast is not tasty. Finally, the parking is quite small for the size of the hotel. I do not recommend staying in this hotel unless you must.
Room was shite , meant to be a family room and was way to small , bunk bed was a joke , shower and toilet was horrible and way to small, staff were nice, friendly and helpful , will not be staying again.
Lift door broken open on the 6th floor all weekend and left as is. Food scattered all over the stairwell from floor 6 down to floor 1 and left. 1 very skinny pillow and no option of a second 1. Towel in bathroom covered in what looked like make up
Excellent location, close to the Salford Quays Metro stop allowing excellent connectivity to Manchester City and to Media City, Salford. The guest needs to be aware that this is a budget hotel (the clue is in the name). This means no tea- or coffee-making facilities or toiletries in your room and no included meals. You can purchase these downstairs at reception if you wish. I was allocated what was obviously a room intended for mobility-impaired guests. There were lots of assistance bars in the toilet, no toilet seat cover and two spy holes in the room door, one at standing height and one at wheelchair height. I have no idea why I was allocated this room and perhaps all guest rooms look similar- although I doubt it. I just hope that I did not deprive a genuinely disabled guest of an appropriate room for his/her requirements. The reception staff are friendly but the hotel appears to be staffed by people in their very early twenties. How the employees could have graduated hotel and catering college and gained sufficient work experience at that age, is beyond my comprehension.
