It’s a room above a pub, so if you’re looking for somewhere to dump your bags and rest your head, it’s okay. However, it was unclean (other than the bed), dusty, un-vacuumed, dirty plugs, filthy remote control. So spending any time in the room was unpleasant.

Poor Standard
The room wasn't very clean with lots of hairs in the bath and toilet. The room we stayed in was above the front of the pub and there was quite a bit of noise obviously. The serviceability standard was poor with not lighting above the bed not working, one covered in tape as the shade was missing. Only provided with a quarter a roll of toilet paper The 2 chairs had big stains on them so wouldn't even sit or place anything on them. The final shock, was the white powder paper roll-up in the bedside drawer. Above the bed was a picture stating "Welcome to Paradise"! On the positive side, the room was relatively close to the airport, the bedding was clean (didn't dare check the mattress) & the pub downstairs was ok. If you do decide to stay here, point of note, make sure the put your vehicle details onto the IPad at the bar immediately on arrival to avoid potentially having to pay parking charges.

Unfortunately because it is a room above the pub, music was playing loudly until midnight then noisy drunk people were talking loudly outside until after 1am. It was clean, but room was small and a bit dated and bathroom reached across a corridor. Although this was meant to be just for my room I was told the lock didn’t work well so not to close the door fully, which didn’t feel like much privacy.

The Spread Eagle is a traditional pub with a small number of bedrooms in the Southern suburbs of Manchester. My room had a comfortable single bed, with a private bathroom across a (fire exit) corridor. My only problem was that I almost got trapped in the bathroom, as the door lock was badly fitted. There's onsite parking at the rear. It doesn't serve breakfast, but there are plenty of options nearly, even on a Sunday, including a Costa, a Caffe Nero and a Wetherspoons. Access from the city centre is quite easy with the 85/86 bus from Piccadilly Gardens, or a Metrolink tram within walking distance.
