Good location which was ideal for us as we went to the Edinburgh Tattoo. We left our car at the airport carpark for 24 hours and travelled in by tram which was very faat. The room was better than I expected with all the basics and en suite with a good shower. We got a takeaway pizza from Marcos next door. The double bed was next to the wall but being a student ròm we felt that was ok. We felt very safe as there was a locked gate at the entrance

Não recomendo para casal ou no verão!

Equipe da recepção muito atenciosa e prestativa. Mas o quarto é minúsculo e abafado, cama de casal muito pequena. Sem ar condicionado e de manhã muito barulho e iluminação entrando pela janela. Banheiro voltando cheiro de urina e parecia uma cabine de banheiro químico. A parte de cozinha é compartilhada, porém bem completa com eletrodomésticos novos. Tem pontos de ônibus perto, mas para ir a pé aos passeios acaba sendo longe. Esperava mais, me enganei pelas fotos. O wifi é excelente!

Original studio overlooked the western approach road and was so noisy that even with the window shut I couldn't sleep. But I was allowed to change to a smaller but much quieter studio.

Staff very pleasant and helpful, a few streets away from main drag so was nice and peaceful. Room basic and clean. Bathroom was the only negative as smell of ammonia when sat on toilet was off putting. Other than that couldn't fault the place for price.

Staff really helpful. Location fairly near city centre. Price far more reasonable than many others during August. Room basic but absolutely fine. The underpass overlooked by some rooms (including ours) is very noisy from traffic a lot of the time.

What's up with the towels?

The place is nice with most of the basics. The bed was smaller than I expected but comfortable. The hotel had limited hair driers at the front desk; I think they could afford to put one in each room. This might sound bizarre, but as an environmentalist, I was upset at the size of the towels... they were gigantic and very thick, meaning that to launder each towel would take easily twice the amount of soap, hot water, and energy than a normal towel would, and considering that we only stayed one night and couldn't reuse them seemed all the more wasteful. If the hotel wanted to impress their guests they could offer some shampoo and conditioner (I got four little bottles of body wash) instead. But the service was great and so was the location

Had kitchenette student room. Great value for the Fringe. 20 min walk to Royal Mile, clean room and friendly staff. Tesco close by to source brekkie.or eat at Grassmarket only 10 min. Only complaint was the noise of the bin lorry at 7am Sat and Sunday. Def stay for Fringe again.

The room was quite small but there were shelves everywhere to feel comfortable. Staff was very considerate with us, especially Edith and Claudio who helped us arrange a tour to the SCottish Highlands. Everyone was very nice.

Lively clean and airy building. Reception staff very helpful and patient especially with a couple of dodery Golden Oldies . Room plus Shower room was also clean and fresh. No hispitality tray inroom, but in the shared kitchen there was every thing you needed and again clean and tidy.. Clise to Haymarket Train Station, with frequent buses and Trams. Good eateries near by. We RECOMMEND, and plan to be visiting again.

Come on, feel the noise...

Compared to other hotels in Edinburgh, it's very cheap. And the staff was fantastic. It's also close to most in the city. But it's warm, it's noisy (especially on the north side!) and it's a bit narrow and worn down. But for cheap accommodation, quite OK. Wifi and TV was all right. And kitchen with fridge is always nice to have.

Stayed with my husband for the Fringe. Really impressed with the room, we had a studio apartment so had a fridge, hot plate and microwave. The room was a decent size, lots of storage. The en-suite was small but fine, the shower was very good. The only downsize was that the bed was against the wall making it difficult for my husband to get in and out. Only two pillows provided, one each but asked at reception and were promptly given two more. The staff were lovely really friendly and helpful. No parking at the place but parking provided just round the corner, in a secure underground car park for £15 per night, something to factor in your cost calculations. Overall it was perfect for what we wanted
