Bathroom sink and shower drains mostly Clogged. Maintenance person on vacation. Staff sympathetic but could do nothing. Beds very soft.

Great location in St Andrew’s Square ; very cool decor. Front desk staff friendly and helpful, but disappointed in other areas . The lift was not working during our 2 day stay , a vending machine in reception was not working (not sure what it sold ) at breakfast I had to make my own coffee from a machine (not good coffee and not expected for the price !!) . Hot breakfast ok not great mainly reheated items . General lack of information in the rooms . With a slight improvement in service it could have been a great stay !!! Get a few more staff and a better maintenance contracts for your facilities and I would look to return.

Pleasant overall but some external noise issues
Generally pleasant stay, due to conserving the historic nature presumably the windows of room 306 suffered from noise loud external noises beyond the control of the hotel from vehicle revving, bin lorries and people shouting so such rooms will benefit from additional acoustic measures internally to prevent this. The room was a good size clean and comfortable on the overall.

Mixed bag
Breakfast poorer than previous visits. Tomato uncooked, just barely warmed. Black pudding was cold and tough. Please just spent a little extra for Stornoway black pudding - it is far better than others. Couldn't get the sir con in the room to work.
