Birthday Bash in Edinburgh
Great location, right in the heart of the city. We had a very quiet room, nice decor, with a lovely comfortable bed. Glass of Prosecco after checking in was a nice touch, but they managed to mix up our luggage, delivering one of our cases to my sister’s room in the floor below, and vice versa! Service in the bar was appalling! Before heading out for dinner we stopped for drinks in the bar but nobody came to our table to take an order. After 10 minutes waiting, I went to the bar to order, only to be told it was “table service only”, but then had to wait a further 10 minutes for a waiter to come to our table to take the order, and then an eternity to get served!!! The place was not even busy, so there was absolutely no excuse for the appalling service. When we returned later in the evening with family for a night cap, the service was equally bad. I would recommend not drinking in their bar!! For breakfast my wife and I decided on Eggs Benedict. Hers was perfect, but the muffin on mine was so hard I couldn’t cut it, and ended up trying to saw through it! They charge a hefty price for their breakfast, and based on my experience I’d say it’s not worth it.

Prime location and very easy access.
On arrival the door was opened for us and a concierge took our bags from the car and helped us to our room. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with all the usual amenities. Plenty of sockets for electrical equipment. The bathroom was quite small but contained a bath with shower over it, a basin and toilet. Towels and robe were in there. Breakfast was included in our stay amd it did not disappoint. There was everything you could want and whilst it was self service, the staff on hand were regimental in their ability to assist. The hotel is centrally placed to take on the tourist spots and cafes and bars are everywhere. The Castle is a twenty minute walk from the hotel and there is so much to see and do within that area. We will be back.

The hotel and staff were amazing. The parking - though a little distance away was good and hotel supplied discount for it. It was in superb position for all we did.

Fantastic Stay at the Intercontinental! The accommodations are cozy. Staff is always helpful. Printing Press cafe is very good as well. The hotel is in the middle of Old Town convenient location!
