What’s not to love

Great hotel with own car park in the centre of Skipton. Bedroom was big and clean, with all you need provided. Breakfast was good and so was dinner. Nice bar and beer garden

Love room, bathroom very clean. Food in pub very good. Could do with a separate room check in area as the bar can be very busy. Glad of the car parking!

Excellent as always

Stayed a few times, always excellent. Rooms, food, beer, staff, can’t fault anything. Not cheap, but worth it. Evening meal was excellent, restaurant quality as opposed to pub grub.

Fab Stay.

Very welcoming hotel. Staff were very good and the food in the bar was excellent quality. The beer vouchers in the room are a nice touch.

Great on every level. Being on the top floor meant we got a great nights sleep. A drink at the bar was a bonus surprise.

8/10 Very good

Old pub in the centre of Skipton.

Right in the centre of town, a lively spot although our room was quiet. Renovated many times over the years so stairs go up and then down before arriving at the room. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Our room was fairly compact but fine for a night.

Great Wooly Sheep

The room, pub, staff, food, service and overall including free parking was exceptional!! Will be back!
Peter, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Room was very small and a very small shower. However it was very quiet even with the window constantly open because of the heat outside. The bed was very comfy, and the flask of fresh milk for the coffee was a very nice change from the small cartons as you get in most places. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good and with a wide choice. However I did notice that some of the yoghurts were actually 3 or 4 days past their use by date. I am sure that this was just an oversight as everything else was very good service and quality. There was a nice restaurant and bar with several real ales from the local brewery on every evening

Excellent

This hotel is ideally positioned, its exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast is cooked fresh to order. Would definately recommend. Private carpark accessible via side of Specsavers and is token operated (collect from the bar)

Birthday visit

A one night birthday trip. Staff are welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Room comfortable if a little small. Room was very warm but solved by turning off the heat and opening the window. My only recommendation would be for the waiting staff to bring out the required knives for meals. Had soup and a roll with whipped butter but no knife to spread butter, also had steak again no steak knife. Both had to be requested. Small details like this are unimportant but would make things more amazing.

Good place to stay in Skipton

We had a 3 night stay here. The room we stayed in had a table with a basket of teas, instant coffee and cookies. They leave a half pint free voucher. The inn was in a great location, less than 10 minutes walk to the train station. We had dinner on Sunday night, the roast beef dinner was very good. The room was on the smaller size, not a lot of space for 2 people. The bathroom was very small, the rain head shower was not the best for the small space. The room was clean. Breakfast was very good, I suggest the omelette. The 730 breakfast time was great for touring.

Great stay for Bolton Abbey wedding

We stayed at the Woolley Sheep as we went to a wedding at Bolton Abbey. The place was perfect for somewhere to rest and get a good quality breakfast after an evening of dancing. Top tip - request an early check-in on booking. There were a few people trying to check in around midday and it seemed to cause great confusion if it hadn’t been prearranged. For us, for a charge of £5 (really?) we were let into the room at 12.30. Big pluses though - free, secure parking, good standard & clean rooms, central Skipton location, friendly & helpful staff, solid breakfast included in the rate, great value overall.
