Go for the courtyard
Good location and facilities (the rooftop bar is well worth visiting), with a young and enthusiastic staff. Rooms are small, but use the available space well and are clean. The more expensive city view rooms don’t reduce the significant NYC noise to an appreciable extent, the views are not especially memorable either. Courtyard rooms are much quieter and better values as a result.

Enjoyed my stay
Decent stay ; small rooms and I wish I knew there was the option of a terrace but other than that the location is pretty close to shopping ; but pretty far from other areas ; but Uber’s weren’t too bad . I loved the building , rooftop and courtyard were all nice and the staff was more or less really nice!

It was overall nice. I thought we’ll get a balcony but we didn’t. Room was pretty small and the bathroom was in the same room as the bed.

They are barely cleaning the rooms, yikes.
They only clean your room if you ask them to and it has to be scheduled ahead of time. I didn't expect the cleaning situation during COVID to be so compromised. I had to get my own towels and bedding. I had to change my own sheets. The "bodega" is super over priced....$7 for a bottle of water. Over 5 dollars for a cup of coffee...but when I asked for a cup (which is supposed to come in my room for free, but they were not cleaning my room), the guy at the counter wanted to charge me a dollar! on my credit card! That just was really petty. I like that the lounge was really nice, clean, relatively quiet. The rooftop bar doesn't have good shade areas. It was hot, too much sun exposure. Much more comfortable at night. Very expensive drinks, but they were good. There are some nice wine stores in the area and a starbucks in walking distance. And a trader joe's.

One of the hotel employees were racist He was super lazy when it came to serving a African American person. Hotel rooms weren’t clean no daily house keeping or cleaning services overall all stay was pretty cool as far as the rooftop and food front desk gave me complimentary drinks and a cleaner room.

A mixed bag of good & bad
Traveled with my family; 2 adults, 2 teens. Got two rooms for each set. The bad: the bathroom - wow!! I’ve never seen a bathroom so poorly designed in the US. I didn’t mind it being literally right next to the bed, but their’s NO privacy. 1) It has a sliding door, that when closed it doesn’t completely close - there’s a gap between the door and the glass bathroom wall. You can literally see into the bathroom and see the toilet, or out of the bathroom if you’re sitting on the toilet. So, if you’re sharing the room with someone - they can see you using the toilet! Whoever designed & approved this should never work in hotel design or management ever again!!! Horrible!! Also, there is no fan in the bathroom, so you can not only SEE the person on the toilet - you can also hear & depending on their use - you can smell them (eww!)!! I mean really, who the heck approved this!??! Had to ask my wife to leave the room every morning while I did my business. For this - I can’t recommend this hotel & would never return! Also, one night we had serious noise issues with the rooms on both sides (extremely loud sex & a loud party)! Good: beyond the poorly designed toilet, it is a very modern and hip design hotel with a large nicely decorated sitting area. The staff was friendly & parking wasn’t bad for NYC. Arlo is clearly popular with young hipsters - most guest were mid-20’s & there to party & socialize which was no problem for us. But it isn’t for families. Fix the bathrooms!

Micro rooms with a purpose!
Great atmosphere! Chic and modern. Clean. Great for couples, business trips or just to relax. They have a great rooftop lounge as well.
