    Watch Your Budget
    We had a great trip to NYC and our stay at SIXTY LES was great, room-wise. Comfortable rooms, quiet walls, friendly housekeeping staff, great views, convenient location, etc. We enjoyed our stay. However! One thing I was completely thrown off by was at check in, we were charged a temporary incidental fee of $450.00/room. We had two rooms, which was $900.00 extra dollars. At booking, there was no indication of having any additional fees upon check in. We paid many additional service charges and fees when we booked online, but the additional $900.00 when checking in was a huge shocker. I realize that it’s temporary and that it will be returned, but imagine $900.00 of your spending money for your trip-gone! We had to pick and choose what to do on the trip so we’d have enough money. We didn’t budget for that money being taken. And I feel like it’s unfair to blindside your guests that way, because if you spring it on them at check in, they’re backed into a corner. Like, what else are they supposed to do? You either refuse to pay it and have nowhere to stay, or you try to find another hotel in a panic and still be charged for canceling last minute, or you pay it so you don’t have interruption of your arrangements and have over half of your spending money taken. It’s not good business and it’s very sneaky, and I don’t like people playing with my pocket that way. As much as I enjoyed my stay, I don’t know if I would return because of this reason.

    Wonderful trip
    From the get-go, everything went smoothly. Our room was definitely larger than most NYC hotel rooms and had a great view as well. The location of the hotel is perfect in my opinion. The bed was super comfortable but may pose a slight problem to others as it is lower to the ground than normal beds. I loved the shower and hair products they supplied as well. Their bar on the 7th floor has some kicking cocktails that are something out of the ordinary. The customer service was great as I had left my jacket in our room and didn't realize it until I got home. I sent them a UPS label and received it back in no time. I highly recommend staying here and we won't hesitate to do so in the future.

    Save your money!
    Upon arrival desk agent told me I could ONLY use a credit card with a chip in it. I didn’t have one on me so I asked what he suggested I do and he said I’ll just cancel your reservation. No alternative, no options nothing. I asked him what I should do and he basically said find another place. I asked if there was a manager who could help, he said he was the manager. I asked him to please try and swipe my card. The gentlemen did not smile once or seem interested in helping whatsoever. Finally after offering to pay cash for my stay and incidentals (I work in a resort we would never take cash for incidentals RED FLAG) was the only attention I got from him. He was eager to take cash. I then basically had to beg him to try and manually enter my card and it worked no thanks to him. The room was run down the couch was disgusting and the bathroom floor was filthy. I was across from the bar and smelled like a zoo but the noise everyone complains about I wasn’t there for. The bed was comfy the valet were nice but that’s about it. There are also tons of hidden fees where the stay was supposed to be $200 cost me $397. Still one month later a duplicate charge is still pending. I wrote a review on trip advisor and a “manager” reached out for me to contact him. I called and was told he is on vacation for two weeks. Save your money and stay at another place for that price I would have stayed at many other highly favored hotels.
