Great location for the universal, good breakfast.
We stayed overnight during our visit to universal, it was very close to the park. Reading some of the reviews that says the area was sketchy I was little concerned but I would say there was nothing sketchy about the area, it is a typical LA neighborhood. Breakfast was good. Parking was very convenient for a reasonable $10 fee. Overall we were happy with our stay as a family of 4.

North Hollywood Stay for Universal Studios.
Everything was as good as I expected. The problems I had, was the renovation was suppose to be done and it wasn't, so some things were inconvenient. Plus the front drsk people did tell me breakfast or check out times, i had to call, which isn't a huge deal but I always get told that. Also the $15 parking charge said it was covered on my Bill, but they charged me anyway. Which i will be disputing with Hotels. Everything else was good though. Nice size room, decent breakfast for what you pay for and nice people there. Distance to universal studios is good too. I would stay again after the renovation is over.

Its the worst place.
We stayed on 02/13 for one night. No running water when we checked in for 4 hours. Could not flush toilets. Then elevator not working do to maintence and there was no stair entrance. We came down and ended up outside in the rain. Then had to wait for 1 hr before going back up woth elevator. We were just trying to collect our food delivery.

Good Value
Everyone was extremely friendly. We arrived at 1 in the morning just for an overnight before the Rose Bowl in Pasadena the next morning. Parking felt secure. There were guards in the lobby which is (sadly) always comforting these days. Breakfast was adequate. They were renovating the lobby and have obviously done some upgrades in the rooms. The price of our stay was excellent and we were very satisfied.

Beware of payment options
Ridiculous that you can't use a credit card on your phone in this day and age. Luckily I still has another hard card, but be need to do their the process of reimbursement rather than a simple payment form (that is accepted globally).

Nice place to stay
The surrounding area was not the best but there was 24 hour security so we felt safe on the property. There was ample parking so we didn’t have to worry about coming back late and it was easy to go out for a few hours and co e back. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Terrible experience
Staying here has been an extremely unpleasant experience. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the smell of construction on the fourth-floor corridor is overwhelming. The odor is also quite strong inside the room. Starting at 8:30 AM, there was constant banging and the use of electric drills, making it impossible for me to rest, especially since I had only slept for three hours due to jet lag. The front desk couldn't offer any viable solutions; the only option they provided was a pair of earplugs. As a result, I had to take my young child, who also had very little sleep, out of the hotel to find a distant destination so we could nap in a taxi and even in a coffee shop. It's frustrating that we couldn't stay in the hotel room we paid for.
