Park Central Hotel New York

Had a lovely nights in this hotel. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Hotel location is very central with a metro station directly beside. Staff very pleasant. All in all a most enjoyable experience. It was excellent on every level.

The $36 facilities fee is not good - I didn’t need any of the facilities it covered like leaving your luggage. Most decent hotels don’t charge for that. No room service and the lobby food service was closed due to some private function that was nowhere near the food outlet.

The only good thing about staying in this hotel is the location. Opposite Carnegie hall, 5 min walk from central park. 10 min walk from times square and Broadway. Service poor, too busy to give it a personalised touch! A lot of renovations going on, scaffolding everywhere. Pricey spot

Found out their was additional fee of $35 per day for hotel facilities, booking included taxes and fees.

I travel the world and stay in hotels extensively and this was the worst hotel I have stayed in without a doubt. From the general unfriendliness of the staff, to hidden charges for the most basic facilities such as bag drops, to exposed electrical sockets in the room, to cracked and damaged toilet seats, to the maid service who remove empty soap and shampoo but don’t see the need to replace them which takes a visit to an unfriendly reception (at midnight what else is keeping them too busy?) a follow up phone call to concierge services and an hour and a half to replace without even an apology. I am abroad at work for Xmas so this was a treat for my wife; a first trip to New York. She loved the city and said the hotel was the only thing that nearly spoiled the trip;and she has worked in the hotel trade! We are already planning our next trip to New York and never mind being bottom of the list for accommodation, this hotel won’t even be on it.
