The day we arrived the Parade went through the City which was amazing. Loved Gloucester for its vibrancy and friendliness. Lovely shopping areas. Walking round The Quayside was great and the markets. Would love a longer visit.

Patchy architectural environment, some run down buildings and many shops shuttered after closure. The city looks to be struggling - but very busy traffic-wise so no lack of potential customers. Lots of cafes but not so many good-looking restaurants.

Lovely things to see. Especially enjoy the children's choir singing at the Cathedral in the late afternoon, quite magical.

Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely gorgeous hotel and I can't believe I got it for the price I did. I stayed alone on business mid week and the facilities were brilliant.
A high standard Spa with a beautiful view out of the windows, decent sized gym (although it opened quite late at 7am, not the best when you have an early start - 6am would be perfect) and I even treated myself to a late evening massage (Emily was great).
The food was delicious, especially the breakfast, and the staff were all very polite and helpful.
I'd be staying much more often if the price was that achievable mid week (circa £120)."
"Really comfortable room. Well laid out, with everything that we needed. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for money. We are our evening meal and breakfast at the diner. Food was delicious, fresh and service was excellent. "
"We absolutely loved our second stay here , it was even better than we remembered. Friendly staff , lovely gardens surrounding with ponds & a pool with sauna & swimming included in your stay price . "
"Friendly welcome. Room was spotless and the air con was awesome! Great pressure in the shower and nice smelling products. Reasonable prices in the bar. Comfy bed. Loved it!"
