We stayed in an economy room for 3 nights. It was lovely, lots of blonde wood which made it warm & homely. Comfy bed. Good night's sleep. They had made the best of the small room by using good shelving & cupboard space. Good sir con. Shower & bathroom was fine (pressure wasn't power shower but it was ok & spacious). Staff met us on arrival, took us to room & were good at explaining everything. It's a very secure building & we forgot how to get through one of the doors but used the help phone number & they talked us through it. Best part is the hotels central location - literally 3 minutes from the beach, shops, eating, drinking areas - but the room is quiet. Only downside is we spent time on the beach, sand came back into the room with us - we should have asked for a brush to sweep it 😆 Totally recommend this lovely central place in this beautiful city.

The best things about Urkia are the location and the bed. Our room was tiny and felt a lot like IKEA., The street outside was really noisy until the wee hours and the walls are thin. But our experience was saved by the fact that the bed was amazing and the guest house is just a few blocks from the main beach. Since we don’t spend a lot of time in our room, it was all fine and cost-effective given the going rates in a resort destination Also, you get a discount at La Perla spa by virtue of being at Urkia. Take advantage of that offer. The aquatic therapy is fantastic for men and women.

The hotel was in a good location and close by to alot of shops and restaurants. The hotel is in an apartment block and it was rather difficult to get into and we did not feel happy leaving the bags as we checked in early as there was no where to keep them and then no one on reception. The walls were paper thin and you could hear every little bit of noise from people in other rooms. The room was clean however if you want to sleep on a night I would not for a busy day ahead I would not recommend.

We stayed in 5 hotels this recent trip throughout Madrid, San Sebastián And Mallorca. This is the only one we would not rebook. It is a good location and the check in lady was nice. However, it’s not a hotel- the check in process was difficult and More like an Airbnb where you need to contact someone to let you in but no one answered initially, it was on the wrong floor, the picture shown is of a different building. There are no toiletries other than a tiny tiny bottle of shampoo for 3 days for two people, no conditioner or body wash and not enough shampoo to last more than a shower. The shower was dirty. The room is tiny and the hallways etc smelled. No one changed our towels or made the bed or offered any type of service. Throughout our different travels this is the first negative review we’ve ever left.

This was a great base for exploring San Sebastian. It's just a couple of minutes from the old town, the beach and Downtown. The staff were helpful and the room was well-equipped and comfortable. The only slight downside was that clearly a child lives above and with the hard wood floors, I could hear them running up and down - not a big problem as they went to bed early!

Very convenient central location only about 9min walk from bus and train station. Beach close by. There is a lift but it only goes to between floors so you will always need to climb some steps. Reception is on 3rd floor so best to leave luggage on first floor until you know which floor your apartment is. Our apartment did not have the advertised microwave but we were allowed to use the one in the shared kitchen next to our room. The hallway had plenty of supplies of tea, sugar, coffee and biscuits. Staff were very helpful. There are no laundry facilities but there is a laundromat not far away. The beach near by did not seem to have chairs and parasol hire but we later discovered that if you go left along the beach there are pergolas with covers that you can hire.
