The hotel is modern, clean, cosy and quiet, although rooms are small but quite well-appointed. It is located a little bit of a walk from the old town, but that makes for good exercise after you’ve eaten lots of tapas. What stands out is the staff are super friendly and very helpful with everything. Overall, they made the stay.

A well appointed hotel with the typical over design elements of the Axel brand. It is a brand that caters to the gay community but is now in desperate need of all clients. It’s amusing to see their current promotions of their new South Beach Hotel, Miami Beach flashed at the reception desk 😂😂. What are straight elderly guests to think? Muscle men on holiday at the San Sebastián Axel Hotel? The brand needs to update its original intent and campaign! Overall the hotel is proper with a very professional staff both reception and housekeeping.
