Oh My Gosh, This Was So SO Good...
Oh my this was so so good! We came on a spontaneous trip from Oregon to Biarritz, France, not really knowing anything about Basque Country, to see a favorite musician, Melody Gardot, perform. When our very good friends found out where we were going and how close it was to San Sebastián, a favorite of theirs, they insisted we make a trip there as well, so we did. We didn’t know much about the area, but they recommended we walk around the old city, so we booked a hotel there and OH MY GOSH IT WAS PERFECT - from the location, to the service, to the friendly and helpful staff, to the comfortable and beautiful room, we had no complaints at all, in fact we were blown away. From the moment we walked in and they handed us glasses of wine, to the second we walked into our adorable brick-wall-laden room and saw the view of the Santa Maria Basilica church directly outside our balcony, to the myriad of restaurants and excellent pintxos (tapas) bars, to the immediate access to the hiking trails leading up to Motako Gaztelua, a 12th century castle overlooking the city and the ocean, we couldn’t have written this script any better. When we make it back to San Sebastian, we will definitely be booking here again.

All the staff, especially the front desk but also the kitchen staff were fantastic and helpful. They got us Michelin Star restaurant reservations, called our cabs and offered complimentary welcome wine and late stay coffee. We were very very impressed.

The breakfast was amazingly good. Right next to the Church but the bells and noise did not bother us. The photo of the room was not what we got. However this was not an issue for us. Only pity was the bill which was more than confirmation and need to sort this out. Hotels.com needs to sort this out. Overall gave the stay and hotel a good rating.

飲食店の多いエリアでバルホッピングに非常に便利。新しく部屋も素敵なインテリアでした。朝食の豪華さには驚きました。朝食にもピンチョスがあったり、個別オーダーで卵メニューなども頼めます。ビーチも近く腹ごなしの散歩に行けます。バスステーションや駅からは少し離れているので、天気が悪い日は(11月の訪問時は雨と強風でした)、無理せずタクシー利用した方が良いです。
