First trip to Paris! We were a short walk away from Musee Rodin and Hotel des Invalides. The Eiffel Tower at night was breathtaking. Unfortunately, my partner's wallet was picked on the 92 bus; apparently that particular bus route is prone to theft.

After traveling to cities all over the world and particularly the US, Paris has a vibe all its own. Being an obviously popular city you would expect "tourist" stuff everywhere. NOT AT ALL. The croissants, the bistros aren't a facade but everyday life

The Metro trains run frequently but there are a lot of stairs to navigate. You can get anywhere in Paris through Metro and bus connections Many streets and sidewalks are made of cobblestones so leave the high heels home. Taxis are many along avenues.

For all the expectations, Paris remains incomparable: romantic, compact, chic and efficient. Nearly everyone seems to speak good English, service is unexpectedly good, we met kindness everywhere--and for a sense of design and cool, it can't be beat!

Paris is a beautiful city with hundreds of years of history. The only negative is if you are driving a car. There is very little legal street parking, and due to the many traffic lights and one-way streets, it is very slow going. Take a bus or taxi.

TAKE COMFORTABLE SHOES! Forget trying to look cute unless you plan to hire Ubers to take you everywhere. Paris is wonderful for walking, so plan accordingly. Download the RATP app or use Google/iMap for Metro. Vegans: use Happy Cow for food options.

We loved our trip to Paris, walked 45 miles over 5 days so good footwear recommended. Bought a navigo travel pass which we used a lot also. Was very expensive compared to other cities but we were expecting that. Saw everything we wanted to do & more

Guided tours with skip the line were just great at both Le Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. Well worth it. Also big red bus hop on hop off was great for first day to get an overview of the city sights We also took boat tour on Seine, visited 3 gardens!
"Great location and very walkable to Montmartre. Nice side street with cafes and vibrant bars. Room was immaculate, small in the euro style but perfect for my stay."
"One of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed in - from the art to the music to the dogs sleeping in the lobby. We LOVED it. The view from our room was beautiful and the staff (including the owner) were available if we had any questions. "
"Grand Hyatt Paris was a great choice to stay at. Modern and clean. Friendly multi-lingual staff. Train and metro station at the doorstep. Supermarket and alcohol store in the complex. Just two stops and 18 mins to Gare du Nord Eurostar station. Leisurely 15 min walk to Arc de Triumph and Champs Élysées. Easy metro trips to other iconic parts of the city including St Germaine. Rooftop bar and many food options for breakfast, lunch and tea. What’s not to like! "
"The hotel is very well- located for Metro, longer distance train, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping mall, movies, walking to the Seine and Eiffel Tower..
There is a trash room to take out your garbage and also a small fridge, microwave, stovetop in the room. The elevators were slow to arrive and crowded at times, but overall, this is a fine hotel that is in a residential, rather than busy touristy area. Much to explore if you walk a few blocks in any direction!"
