Lots of great shopping. It snowed while I was there, and the roads were quickly plowed & maintained. Much prefer Bismarck over Billings because it's safer, cleaner and the people are nicer !! I could easily live there.

Bismarck is an older looking city. You can tell that a lot of the area businesses were from the 80's or older. The nearby Kirkwood Mall is kind of dying as there were empty stores throughout. The city could use an update in the business district.

I love coming to Bismarck for the extra stores and good dining. It has been hard to find a good hotel; clean, courteous staff, safe, dog friendly, all at the same place.
