We started our stay in the middle of the week and didn't realize that it's not quite yet their busy season so many businesses were closed. By Thursday, more shops and restaurants were open. Great little town with lots of food and outdoor seating!

If you are Helen in September or October, do the Festhaul. The cover charge is high but the band stage is set up with a band on the left and one on the right. When one band is on break the other band is playing so the party never stops.

Helen is a very cute town with lots to see. Highly recommend visiting the Outpost mining place just down the road a 2 min walk and Das Ice cream which is practically across the street. Also, cool river tubing is a blast.

Helen is very unique! The whole town dressed like German characters! Food was great! Shopping was great. Beautiful fall decor. The best place to ride a motorcycle! Everything was perfect.

Great place to visit year round. Seems the best time of year to go is from spring time to Oktoberfest time. Most shops close really early in the winter season.

Disappointed to learn that Helen had no cultural ties to Germany. We learned from a museum video that when Helen was a dying town, a gentlemen who used to be a Soldier that was stationed in Germany, pitched the idea of rebuilding with a German theme

The niche of Helen is it's German style architecture. However, after walking around for 15 min. it gets rather boring. The main attractions are the beautiful mountains and natural scenery that we thoroughly enjoyed hiking, climbing, and zip lining in
"For starters, Helen is a great, little town!
The Inn was cozy & quiet. Walking distance to everything. Good TV, nice shower, and a great-comfy King bed!
The only negative-door was kinda hard to close; had to slam it.(Room #207)."
"The room was well maintained, quiet and very clean. All amenities I look for were present (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, adequate free parking.) Breakfast was varied and bountiful. I would definitely stay here again.

"Great location in the heart of Helen. It’s within easy walking distance to the shopping and so many great restaurants. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They even texted us 30 minutes after we checked in to make sure everything was okay with our room. "
"The property is quite and close to everything. The hotel is older and it shows. But the people who work there are very friendly. We would stay again "
