When the beach is calling your name, you might want to head down to Amalfi Beach in the heart of Amalfi. If you want to continue walking by the waves, head to Atrani Beach and Castiglione Beach, both within a short walk.
If you want to see the cathedral in Amalfi, head to Amalfi Cathedral, in the centre of town. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here?
Imagine strolling along Amalfi Harbour for some great waterfront pics when in the heart of Amalfi. Our travellers also like the cathedral in the area – your cultural tour starts here. If you carry on walking you'll get to Amalfi Beach, Spiaggia Duoglio, and Atrani Beach for some more water views.
Commune with nature and explore the great outdoors at Grotta dello Smeraldo during your travels in Amalfi. Stroll along the beautiful beaches or visit the stunning cathedral in the area.
Meander through narrow, sun-drenched streets lined with colourful houses clinging precariously to steep cliffs. Sip limoncello at a cliffside café before descending the famous 'Duomo' steps to swim in crystal-clear Mediterranean waters.
Really stressful trying to get the bus to Ravello from Amalfi - advise you go early. Make sure you buy tickets before getting on the bus. We visited the gardens of Villa Cimbrone which were absolutely wonderful and well worth seeing.

Lovely town with friendly people. Walking gets you anywhere you need. But definitely recommend renting a moped/vespa and visiting neighbouring areas and towns.

Transportation around Amalfi is not good. Taxi prices are not regulated and drivers will try to screw you. Buses are often so full that you can't get on them. Driving a car is crazy and walking is frightening on the roads with no sidewalks.

Amalfi seems like one of the seven wonders of the world that has been assaulted by countless tour buses and packed in tourist. It's quiet for a short time in the morning and evening enough to sneak in a romantic walk and gelato.

A great base to explore the coast, or spend a few days exploring the town - a magical time either way!

Family friendly and more local but if you're a couple visiting for the first time, stay in Positano

Amalfi is ridiculously beautiful, but still quite crowded in October these days.

The only downside was that some of the staff at the ferry ticket booths were rude and not helpful. The buses queues were a nightmare, no organisation at all, overcrowded buses long waits. No extra buses were put on when ferries weren't running.

Amalfi is a beautiful town and the coastline is gorgeous. Also a good idea to look into Positano.
"We loved everything about the property
We just wish they also provided transportation but we understand
But everything was else wonderful.
❤️Wonderful Service with big smiles every day "
"We had a fantastic stay at Palazzo Vitagliano. Everyone was communicative and very helpful, the room was clean & comfortable and the view is impossible to beat. The hotel is ~1 minute walk from Amalfi's main square and also from the ferry port making it easy to travel to other cities along the coast. Parking via the valet was easy and they brought the bags to our room from the port. Our balcony (with hot tub that we used) looks out over the beach and port of Amalfi with a beautiful sunrise & set each day. Breakfast was provided each morning with many options to choose from. "
"Stayed 6 nights as a family of 4. We stayed in the family suite. The suite is spacious and has plenty of room for the clothes. The room offers a large balcony overlooking the sea. If you want to enjoy your bottle of wine on the balcony do not forget to pack a bottle opener as the hotel doesn’t provide it. Breakfast is really good, with yummy pastry and excellent coffee. Highly recommend this hotel."
