The true medieval experience
It's not just to stay in a castle, it is to have the whole medieval experience including a magnificent tour given by Serge, your host. Serge and his wife have performed a very careful renovation of the castle, in which you wouldn't find anything misplaced, but at the same time, you get all the commodities needed. Great breakfast. It was a highlight of our trip.

After 4 busy days visiting Paris, Montautre offered a peaceful and serene haven for our family. Serge was an exceptional host, accommodating and very attentive. He offered us an amazing tour of his 15th century chateau and gave us an insight on what life was like in that area over the centuries. Breakfast was fantastic and we got to taste delicious local delicacies. The accommodations are rustic yet beautiful and very comfortable and we had the most amazing sleep! The surroundings are lush and tranquil, a perfect place for rest and relaxation in a historical setting. Our kids enjoyed exploring the chateau and they loved it as much as we did. We highly recommend! Merci beaucoup!

Back in time
Château de Montautre is a castle full of history and character, making it a great place to stay for adults and children alike. Lucky to have an owner that is passionate about its restoration, bringing the chateau back to its glory days. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There are common areas provided to the guests for relaxation and entertainment. There are great outdoor areas for hiking, stars gazing at night or simply relaxing while looking into nature. We enjoyed a candlelight dinner and breakfast in the morning, both showcasing local products. The owner is well informed about the history of the chateau and the family who owned it centuries before. He provided us with a guided tour that covered historic facts dating thousands of years. I highly recommend staying in this amazing place.

A beautiful castle in the French countryside for a truly amazing stay! I was traveling with family across France and this place provided us with the best experience of our trip: comfortable beds, authentic feel and deco from another time. Serge was an amazing host and cook, he offered us a wonderful wine for dinner from the South of France! Breakfast was plenty and left us charged for the rest of our trip. I highly recommend this place, great for families but also perfect for couples.

The place to reset ones mind
I spent 3 nights and could not believe the secret how this historic castle provided me with such a deep sleep each night. Perhaps it is just about amazing peace and silence, and the feeling of being part of about a very long history (over 600 years) of all these old buildings have witnessed. And as I learned, there are fairly recent discoveries on site dated from Roman times and further investigation on-going taking care by specialists. In any case this is a truly relaxing place where I found myself being connected to the green nature which perfectly surrounds this hidden and very old gem. This is what we all need, I think, to calm down and to get healing from stress by hectic life. To get reset of mindset in a natural way. This is at least what I experienced during these three days. The host, Serge, is a very kind personality. In a nicely modest way and warm heart. I really privileged to get in-death presentation of the history of the castle while Serge guided me through each buildings and rooms. This castle is not a luxury hotel but an unique opportunity to dive to middle ages and beyond. However I found it to be very comfortable as well. Btw. I slept in chambre de la Comtesse.

Exceptionnel
