It was a great hotel in Venice metrópolitan although the reception is far from the actual hotel and the room apart from being really nice and clean, lacked of WiFi and I was beside the electrical room so there was noice almost all night
Only 7 minutes walk from Venezia S.Lucia Train Station and good shopping/eating area. I would give score of 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Good price with breakfast and very clean. It is like a 4-star boutique hotel. Some people complained about going to other place for 15 minutes for check-in, but now they arrange check-in online. I been to Venice before and stayed in 2 different places - one just behind Piazza San Marco. I like this place most.
This was our least favorite hotel from our recent travels around Europe. The room was modernized and clean, however, there was an odor that was very hard to deal with. It smelled like some kind of mildew. You couldn't see anything wrong, however, it was strongest in the bathroom and I believe there may have been trapped moisture beneath the shower pan. I literally had to sleep with the sheet over my head at night as I am very sensitive to smell. We would keep the bath door closed and open the window and hotel room door as much as possible to help ventilate the room, however, this obviously affected our privacy. I booked our room months in advance and ended up with a room that was probably located in one of the noisiest locations. The staff at the actual hotel were great. Very pleasant. Reception staff were okay but really could have done a better job to make you feel welcome. I would not stay here again.
Building was going on in some of the rooms with workers arriving 8AM and not leaving until 6PM, not much chance to relax in the room. Room we had clearly just refurbished and furnishings were basic. Housekeeping was erratic, no toilet paper in the bathroom when we arrived. As there is no staff at the property we had to find the nearest supermarket. Staff were only there at breakfast which was ok and they were friendly. Also note that when you check in at the office at Piazzale Roma they don't indicate the best route to get to the hotel which is by taking the vaporetto to San Marcuola. It's only a 5 minutes walk from there with no bridges so no steps, a much better option with luggage.
It’s close to a lot of nice restaurants and bars, not a far walk to St Marks Square or Rialto Bridge. It was very clean and spacious. Didn’t like that the check in was a 25 minute walk away, and that there wasn’t any stuff, except cleaners, around in the day or evening. Overall, was good value for money.
Beware! We didn’t know hotel had been bought after we booked. A wild twist: The reception is in a completely different part of Venice and you have to go there to check in. And when you do find the check in office, it’s up two flights of stairs! Doesn’t make for a very convenient stay. Extremely inconvenient if you arrive at train station. Ok if you arrive by bus from airport but still really weird.
The room was very clean, the hotel was very central and the sheets were excellent quality. The checkin / checkout location was about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The fridge in the room did not work, nor did the safe and there were no staff at the hotel to report this to. Check in time was stated as 2.30pm by Expedia but 3.00pm by the hotel and the room was not ready until 3.00pm. No eating or drinking in the room Maximum fine quoted as €50!
The rooms are too close to the ‘communal areas’ - the rooms are not quiet as people often congregate outside your room. Especially if you’re on the ground floor near the terrace and breakfast area. We were kept awake by people ringing a door bell and banging on the front door. This could have been avoided if there was a reception or a representative was present in the building.
Great stay, nothing to complain on
My wife and I (from Auckland, New Zealand) stayed 2 nights. Staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay. One problem was that the Air Con vibrated when in use - (2 reduce the noise we put our suitcase against the unit). They did not allow you to eat food in the unit (this was not a problem as we enjoyed eating out) or they did not allow you to wash any clothes. Non of these issues were a problem as we still ENJOYED our stay. We arrived at the main rail station and it was a short walk so location is excellent.
