very romantic
Beautiful, relaxing, and absolutely perfect location! Breakfast was good, extras were nice, people were kind. We would stay here again.

Fair 4.0
We stayed in the Planters Inn over the Christmas holiday. While the location is great, located centrally in the middle of the historic district, the actual hotel itself was very disappointing. My main complaint is how dirty the rooms and particularly the bathrooms seemed. I don't mind older properties, but nothing felt thoroughly cleaned. There were brown stains on the shower curtain and hairs left on the sheets. I found sleeping there very unsettling. Breakfast was inedible. The staff were very nice, but this hotel needs major updates and a change in management. I would never return.

Great area, old building that could be better
In the middle of renovation and it's a little sloppy. Lobby is beautiful and close to great area when it's open. I can't complain much since it's lockdown and I had to travel so thanks to the staff that was working. No valet when I got in late and next morning desk attendent waiting for me with a ticket at exit of the garage so I didn't have to pay for parking in garage.Little touches like the flat paint over rough sheet rock on my bathroom walls and the bedding and towels quality keeps this from being an elegant hotel. Also a note to tell me not to steal the souvenir glasses or I will be charged. But great area and I am sad I was there when everything is closed. I will be back.

Dated and uncomfortable hotel in great location
Location was great. The hotel is old and dated. Keeping the period charm and aesthetic is fine but certain things could use updating. Firstly, the elevators. One of two elevators were non functional for our two night stay. The second elevator was non functional for the second evening of our stay. We were on the sixth floor. It was difficult watching elderly visitors check in and haul their luggage up four flights of stairs. The front desk made no sign or effort to apologize. The mattresses need replacing. The HVAC system was loud and disrupted sleep. And the hallways and hotel room smelled a dank and musty odor. Staff were courteous but not friendly or warm. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Everything was wonderful at the hotel except the bed. Lumpy mattress. Other than that the hotel and employees were excellent. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Location: Highly Recommend
Perfect location in the heart of the city. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops and bars. The staff at the hotel was warm, friendly and accommodating! The room was spacious and the complimentary wine and cheese hour was a nice addition. We will definitely return for a visit! Highly recommend.
