Staff were very welcoming. The property could do with updating. Breakfast was mediocre. Everything was basic, but the property was clean

I was okay with using this one as a last resort until they stopped me checking in and staying during my last booking and kept my money.

I know it was inexpensive and it is a pub, but... Public space looked in need of upgrade. Tired worn threadbare seating, uncomfortable chairs. smell of smoke from outside areas permeated the building. Dreadful carpet in bar and stairs to bedroom had us dreading opening the bedroom door. Worst were the really creaky floors in the bedroom so you couldn't sneak to the bathroom without waking partner Dark blue sheets- a massive No-no for me -I couldn't get in so slept on top. and the uncontrollable shower head which squirted just 4 jets at force. Missing toilet roll holder and towel holder so there was not a lot of space to put anything. The bedroom looked clean enough but the window was small and high so no view whatsoever. As we were 3foot from a brick wall this was ventilation only. On the positive, staff were warm and professional. Cooked breakfast was good and quickly served although bacon a bit fatty for our taste preference. would I stay here again? only if there was nowhere else in my price bracket. Don't think it is geared up for tourists, more worker accommodation. Hope this doesn't offend.

Gave my card details for three different cards but they didn't work on the system.Luckily the fourth card worked.Their was nothing wrong with any of the cards and if the fourth one didn't work we would not have able to stay even though we had paid the full price in advance

The breakfast was good. The room was very small with no window, very claustrophobic. Room was only serviced once in the week I was there. Pub customers openly smoking drugs directly outside of the pub. It would be expensive at half the price

4/10 Fair

The room was very small with a single bed and toilet/shower room, but it was clean and tidy. Water and biscuits topped up every day was nice. Staff were straightforward and helpful. The big downside for me (other than a single bed) was getting an awful sleep every night, as it's right above a pub. They advertise Fri/Sat nights being busy, but I was there Mon-Thurs and the place was heaving every night until about midnight, and you can hear every bit of noise from the bed! Then the apocalypse at midnight, when people going back to their rooms slamming doors. So if you are looking for a night out and somewhere to crash, or one of those guys that works away but spends all their money in the pub, then this would be right up your street. If like me you are working away, asleep early to get up early for a productive day, probably best looking elsewhere. I would recommend staying out the Luton/Dunstable area anyway if possible, traffic is awful and it's a bit of a hole.

I needed a place to stay whilst visiting close friends. This place seemed close by and ideal. And I wasn't disappointed. Lovely helpful staff, the rooms were exactly what I needed for a good night's sleep (no thrills and frills), and breakfast in the morning. Just right...

Excellent accommodation at the Pheasant
Excellent accommodation and very friendly staff. The room was clean but small, the TV being little bigger than the kettle. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful and nothing was too much trouble. The pub is about ten minutes walk from the centre and well worth having a drink in. The locals were friendly and the Guinness was top notch. All in all I would stay again without any hesitation and would recommend others to do so too.

2/10 Poor

We stayed here on the 5th of August 2023, for what was meant to be 2 nights. The pheasant inn looked very run down and outdated but as we were only needed somewhere to sleep that wasn't important. Our room had a broken radiator, a broken lamp and some of the plug sockets were hanging off the wall. We also had to share a bathroom with 5 other rooms which wasn't stated before we stayed. The bathroom was very dirty. We complained about this and we're given keys for a new room, this room was not available to us until we came back on the night of the 6th. On the 6th we arrived back at the pheasant inn at about 11.30pm. We tried to unlock the door and it had been bolted from the inside and we couldn't get in. We tried banging doors and phoning but we had no answer and had to then get an uber 2 and a half hours home so we didn't have to sleep on a bench outside. I phoned up the following morning to explain what had happened and to organise returning my case and was spoken to disgustingly by the manager. He accused us of being too intoxicated to work a door! Refused to send our case and instead had a go at us for not returning the key. There has been endless back a forth on the phone and we have got no further and they have been rude everytime. On two occasions I have said to them I'll send the key, but can they email me confirmation I will get the case once they have received it. But they refused both times. Almost 2 months later we still have no case or even a sorry.
