Lovely hotel with a magical view. A nice pool and right on the street. The food is amazing and the staff are very nice! We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Loved this hotel. Stunning location, lovely helpful staff. Comforting food. Pool area is beautiful. Plenty of smart sunbeds and pool was a gentle temperature. If you’re lucky enough to have a room with a terrace and sea view you’ll be obsessed by the outlook. Dining on the terrace at sunset is superb but make sure you book. A NW coast gem. Totally unpretentious.

La terrasse est magnifique!! Excellente nourriture et personnel très accueillant. Le seul hic est que l’insonorisation n’est pas très bonne étant donné l’âge du building alors si vous avez le sommeil léger…..Je recommande tout de même cet hôtel

The hotel is classic and very nicely appointed. The attendant at check-in (Miguel) was very pleasant and helpful throughout. The room is small but adequate and quiet with a small balcony and view - quite nice in many respects. I did not like that the room had a chemical smell, perhaps trying to cover up the stench of smokers (there was an ashtray in the room). The WiFi ranged from terrible to non-existent both in the room and on the terrace. It did not even work in the lobby. One of the waiters in the restaurant was unprofessional to the point of being rude.

We stayed in Sa Baronia for two nights and overall had a great experience! The room was good sized with a breathtaking sea view. The lack of aircon made sleeping at night a bit difficult, and the walls are a bit thin but we had no unexpected problems. Breakfast was good and fresh and the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

I can't stress how amazing this hidden gem of a hotel is : ) The staff is beyond accommodating, transparent, and overall only seen when needed. The room itself is spotless, great ocean/sunset view. I'm seeing noise complaints on here but the only noise I ever heard was room service at around 10/11am when breakfast was wrapping up. It's only about 30 minutes of them switching linens/towels and etc. The couple next to our room got engaged and we never heard them not once besides when my friend and I overheard their engagement on the balcony.... The breakfast was also a very nice gesture. The food is very fresh and also the same that you would get at any Spanish restaurant so it's such a nice treat. Sidenote: Some of the fruit are picked on the the property.. OMGOSH best part is the pool which was never packed, always clean, and so scenic. Can't stress how obsessed I am with the view : ) If, the pool isn't your thing then the beach is also very beautiful and a bit of a hike but nothing extreme. Only like 10 minutes away and wonderful snorkeling location. The only thing about this hotel is they don't have A/C but most places in Mallorca don't so it's totally normal. To be honest, I'm shocked it's a 2star hotel because they truly do offer the best service I've seen in Mallorca. Oh and last but not least, no obnoxious tourist in this side of the island or town. We made the mistake of going to Camp de mar for a day and immediately ran back to the rest of our stay!

Wonderful place. Eating area and place to have drinks on the roof are unparalleled. Amazing. Only one thing to note is when we were checking out two other guests (separate rooms and not related) had their rooms broken into and lots of property/money stolen. The receptionist seemed defensive, dismissive and didn't seem to take it seriously. We left before the situation was "resolved" but we sincerely hope that management/the receptionist changed and took this serious. To have two rooms broken into within 24 hours of each other is incredibly suspicious....

Loved the property! Very traditional, quiet, no fuss. Uniquely set up and with a gorgeous view and pool. We used the hotel as a base to travel the island from. The first morning we woke up to stale eggy pipe water from the toilet all over the floor (luckily no damage to any of our things), I let them know and they were able to fix it before we came back for the evening. The rest of our stay was very nice. However, there was one staff member with a hamburger and soft drink tattoo on his arm who made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and insulted my significant other by calling him 'miserable'. Here's the thing, my partner is never one to take advantage but on our way out after check-out, he really thought the simple coffee cake on the bar was included so he started to cut a slice... That is when hamburger started to scold us about paying. We apologised for our mistake in albeit poor Spanish but the dude just kept fallowing us out the door and continued to berate us in Spanish... By this point we were very flustered and embarrassed, that is when he pointed at my partner and called him 'miserable'. It was horribly awkward and a weird situation and so I just said "no comprende" and we walked to our car to leave for our next destination.... I do highly recommend this place, seriously do not let this review put you off but that dude (employee) was something else. Maybe he thought we had just wandered in from the street, we will never know.

The views from the terrace are exceptional. Unfortunately the terrace and pool were unavailable due to a large wedding. Not enough staff to look after paying guests. No drinking water provided but no staff or fridge for bottled water. Expedia confirmation says room service is available but it is not.

Simples done brilliantly.
This is a basic guest house which does simple extremely well. It is clean, comfortable and homely and has the most beautiful location on the west coast. You really don't need any more to enjoy yourself.

Parking bit of an issue but otherwise great stay
Great views from room and very good terrace (sea facing) location for breakfast. Only issue was parking as we reached very late in the night and hotel had limited parking. Please note that parking is not next to hotel building. It's slightly ahead on the road on a slope where parking can be tricky but hotel staff advised us that there is public parking on the road further ahead which is free in evening and was paid from 8 am onwards. So, it was bit of hassle to get up early and put some coins in machine to avoid any parking tickets. Also, this property is listed as 'Hotel' on Hotels.com where many properties in Mallorca are listed as 'Hostel' and while booking, I paid special attention to avoid properties listed as 'Hostel'. When we reached the location, building had a board 'Hostel Sa Baronia' which made me skeptical but everything worked OK. Reception clarified that properties without phone and TV in room are classified as 'Hostel'. We were not looking for phone and TV so it didn't make any difference. Location is great and staff courteous. I will recommend this property for a short stay.

Stunning views.
Beautiful old building stunning sea views. Lovely unspoilt village and a few very good restaurants. Lots of steps in the Hotel many levels down to the pool. Would be difficult if hip or knee issues or with small children. Very little soft furnishings on stair areas therefore door closing loud. Would go again caring staff.

Very odd staff but great location
The woman at the front desk was quite odd. Cold. Kept our passports overnight. The next morning when I tried to make light conversation with her she acted as though I had 5 heads. They would benefit from having a chalkboard at check-in to indicate what is offered for dinner. We have to ask her to repeat herself 4 times to understand what she was trying to communicate. Again, write it down on a chalkboard and list the menu in 2 columns. Or print it and give to guests. Dinner was nothing to write home about. Go out instead. Breakfast was very good however. Hotel is very basic with excellent views. Clean room and basic which is what I expected. Quite town and great camp's (walks). I would stay there again but this time longer. Worth it even though staff is a bit odd. Just be prepared.

Amazing views. Staff very friendly. Gluten free!
The manager has coeliacs and was able to help me very professionally with dietary requirements. Easy to get to by bus - even on a Sunday! Lovely staff, multilingual, professional and very kind. 100% would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of Palma. Beautiful location and a beautiful hotel.

Lovely location but noisy rooms
Fantastic rooftop terrace and views but the noise in the rooms made me glad I was only there for 3 nights. I could hear someone snoring through the wall and all the doors bang, the noise echoes down the corridors. There is car parking but not adjacent to the hotel (a 7 minute walk) and the busy road makes it impossible to stop right outside the entrance.

Spain
The hotel has fabulous views of the Mediterranean Sea, the deck chairs are not that comfortable, but the area is small and the weather is harsh, so I guess those chairs are the best for the environment, aluminum with mesh stretched over the seat and back. The beds we we fine, the mosquitos were not. In order to get some air circulating a window needs to be open which lets in mosquitos even in October. No ceiling fan or any other way to get airflow. The cost is reasonable. In the states this kind of a place would go for hundreds a night, so it really was a good deal. The owners are nice, accommodating and speak several languages, which is really helpful. You can get breakfast, it is $9€ for 2 people, just basic, coffee was good tho. They offer dinner each night with food from their garden which was pretty good. 13€ each. The hiking in the area was fantastic, hike one way, take bus back if you want, or hike back. Overall was fun, I would stay at this hotel again, mostly for the view and location, Banyalbofor is very small, this is in the center. 1661 restaurant in center of town has great tapas.
