Fantastic experience and perfect base to explore the island if your interests run more towards hiking and exploring than shopping and beaches. Parking was plentiful and nearby, and loads of amenities out the door in Porto Moniz. Breakfast was varied and high quality. Free use of the natural pools just outside the hotel was a welcome plus. Highly recommend.

Overall great place
The stay was a romantic getaway. The hotel has a great location I would definitely go back but only in the summer time. The biggest attraction are the natural pools which were closed due to weather. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly but it’s super outdated and the food options were not great

This hotel is very far from Punchal airport, but it was listed on Expedia as a choice foyer for Funchal. The roads to get there are very dangerous, especially at night. Don’t book this hotel if you are landing at Funchal ($80 euro cab ride). It is a very isolated town, far from the main attraction areas.

Enjoyable stay. Free access to the natural public rock pools. The hotel spa is very small but nice to have this facility anyway and the outdoor lounge terrace overlooking the ocean (smail as well) makes for a relaxing experience.
