Great upscale hotel in Funchal
This hotel's location is absolutely fantastic if you are planning to explore Funchal. Lots of great restaurant options within 5 minutes walk, right by the water, and easy taxi access for transport.
Check in and out was easy. Friendly reception staff.
Great breakfast buffet, probably one of my favourites of all the hotels I've stayed. Great chef making the best omelettes - I had one every day. Lots of healthy options and good selection of espresso drinks through their machine. The breakfast staff work very hard and are always hustling. There is a small number of outdoor seating, which I really appreciated and tried to take advantage of when the weather is nice.
Our king size bed was very comfortable and the decor is very chic in keeping with the rest of the hotel decor. All the towels were clean and plush. Bathrobes offered with slippers. Nespresso coffee machine, although we didn't use it. Shower pressure was very good.
Pool area was nice, great for lounging and beautiful views. It can get quite busy and seating might be limited when the weather is nice.
One thing to note - no parking if you are driving. We decided against renting a car and just using taxi or Bolt.
Will come back in the future when I return to Madeira.
