If you're planning a bit of sightseeing during your trip, head to White Temple – just one of the landmarks located 7.2 mi (11.6 km) from central Chiang Rai.
Commune with nature and explore the great outdoors at Khun Korn Waterfall during your travels in Chiang Rai. Stroll along the area's riverfront or simply enjoy its cafes.
Chiang Rai, well known for its temples and riverfront, features attractions such as Chiang Rai Clock Tower and Chiang Rai Night Bazaar. The city has something for everyone including sights like Saturday Walking Street Market and Wat Phra Kaew within a small-town setting.
Chiang Rai's night bazaar is as good as, if not better, than the better known one in Chiang Mai, the other big northern Thai town. There are quite a few attractions worth a visit like the White Temple and Blue Temple and the Baan Dam museum.

Only had a few hours to explore. Enjoyed the 75 Anniversary Flag and Lamp Park which had a wonderful flower display and was all lit up at night, and the clock tower lightshow was nice too.

Chiang Rai with the beautiful Flower festival was an absolute highlight on my first trip to Thailand. Lovely clean, super friendly city.

Chiang Rai is a small town and everything is half the price vs Bangkok. Def go to Central Mall to eat, food court closes at 9PM. Souvenir shops near White Temple have better prices than Night Bazaar, but massage parlors are better at night bazaar.

"The hotel was really nice. The staff were helpful and our room was big and spacious. The pool is in a good location had plenty of sunbeds around it and had a poolside bar with snacks. We had a mini bar with free soft drinks in our room, free water and fruit in reception. We used bolt to get to the local attractions and it was reasonably priced. The hotel offered us a package with a private driver as soon as we arrived, which was more expensive than organising ourselves, but we were happy to do the planning. Upstairs there was a fitness suite and billiards room which we didn’t check out. The location was about a 10 minute walk from the clocktower and a 15 minute walk from the bus station. We visited the night market which was 10 to 15 minute walk we ate there which was lovely and they had many stalls."
"La Patta is a very nice hotel, clean and in excellent condition. The staff are super friendly and nice. Their breakfast is great. They also offer free of charge drinks and snack, coffee and sandwiches after 1 PM. It is in great location. You can go to the walking street on the weekend in a minute walk. The night market is also close. I highly recommend it. "
