Our stay at the hotel was good, with nice breakfasts and the staff in the dining, reception and porters were friendly and helpful. However, it got spoiled in the last night of our stay when my sister discovered that money was taken out from her carry bag.
We reported the missing cash to the reception of the hotel and next day management contacted the cleaning ladies who denied taking the money.
Although, we recognized we should have used the safe to put the money in , we think the hotel has a duty of care towards its clients and not one has the right to look over private belongings and take something, in this case, money that don't belong to them.
The hotel concluded that during its 27 years of operation never experienced a case like this and backed up its staff. We, as guests, felt disappointed as we are completely sure the money was taken from the carry bag and the hotel didn't show any consideration towards our situation, just a simple apology for the trouble we experienced. Practically, we felt that they were indirectly saying we were lying as they were backing up their staff and not its guests and this is no correct as we believe management should look after its staff but also after its guests.
