Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa
"What a wonderful birthday getaway. We went early on the day of our stay and had access to all the amenities including the private beach club. We stopped at the beach club first had a delightful charcuterie plate handmade cocktails while relaxing upstairs with an ocean view. Check-in was a breeze and the service exceptional. I mentioned it was my husbands birthday and they surprised us with a complementary plate of chocolate strawberries delivered to our room. The cottage was private with a balcony fireplace soaking tub and complementary champagne. It felt like a 5 star private oasis. A special thank you to the staff and concierge for their attention to detail and making us feel like a cherished guest."

Hotel June Malibu
"Had a great 2 night stay! Cute property, nice staff, good check in experience. However were a few hidden fees at the end that came as a surprise, such as expensive self parking on a dirt road that could have been better communicated."
The M Malibu
"I was greeted in the office and it was a quick check-in to get my room key. Staff was friendly. My room was clean. There was a small refrigerator for me to use. I setup my computer on the desk space and was able to work from my room. Plenty of daylight and you could open the windows for a breeze of fresh air. The shades were blackout so you could get a good nights rest. Great shower, spacious bathroom. The ocean view was amazing, as were the adorable hummingbirds that played in the palm trees right outside my balcony. Loved the balcony. I didn’t use the pool but it was very clean and there were plenty of lounge chairs surrounding it to use. Parking was available. Location was walkable to grocer, etc. and to public beach access— so you can see and do plenty without a car."
SA Beach by Stay Awhile Villas
"Beautiful finishes. Very modern and clean. Felt like we were part of the Nobu property. Bathroom was a spa. Nobu 3 buildings over."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Malibu
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Malibu is during January, November, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a great value for money experience, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the area’s key landmarks, cultural sites, and natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunsets, stunning scenery, and the vibrant atmosphere of the beach, while also exploring hiking trails, the local university, and charming cafes. For those interested in outdoor activities, surfing and various sports are also available, making Malibu an excellent budget-friendly destination.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Malibu, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on accommodations as your travel date approaches. To stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications. Additionally, the app's Smart Shopping tool allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. By using these features, you're more likely to see price drops or new room availability, ensuring you can seize the opportunity for a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Malibu. If you're seeking a more distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a personalised touch and, at times, better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we may suggest more economical dates to enhance your chances of securing a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, thanks to Malibu's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often exceptional value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
