Ok I'm going to sound like a Karen here but absolutely not a 5* hotel sorry. A good 3*, below average 4*. Pretty run down and not what I expected for Bali prices (I waited to review until I had stayed in others) - the rooms are huge and lovely but dated and worn, tiling/grout etc. look dirty as its old, vents are disgusting to be honest, some sunbeds broken etc. etc. I even got dripped on by the air con leaking in reception as I was trying to check out which made me laugh and summed up the experience tbh. The staff are lovely and try hard to please but unless you're going to really take advantage of the cocktail hour and soft drinks/coffee all day it's not worth the Palace premium IMO. Maybe the rooms are a lot better than standard rooms, I don't know? The pool is lovely but small and it's not limited to adults which I didn't realise so my bad on that but means the small pool is overridden with kids for parts of the day, not ideal for relaxation which is what I was there for. Ask for the a la carte breakfast menu as they don't openly provide, though on the second day I pointed to an option which I'd had the day before and was delivered scrambled egg on a soggy piece of bread so this is also hit and miss. They also told me one price for a taxi and it was more than 3x that in the end - this happened a lot with info, i.e. told one price for massage, charged another - just don't seem to be clued up. The beach and water itself is lovely but no loungers on it - public beach

It’s a huge beautiful resort. There were a couple of worn out things in my room though - a board coming off the wall behind the bed, AC stuck on 21 degrees, missing grout in the bathroom. The common areas are lovely though. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the brekky buffet is great

The grounds and pool around Ayodya are fabulous. Stunning setting and very relaxing. Wonderful buffet brrakfast. The rooms could use a little upgrading but were large and comfortable. The kids club was terrible sadly. The staff barely interacted with the kids and spent more time hair braiding. I wouldnt be surprised if kids left on their own accord without the staff noticing. When we came back to get our kids on the first day they were busting to go to the toilet as the staff hadnt interacted at all to even ask them if they needed to go. Also they didnt ask them if they wanted the play stations on and our kids assumed they were broken. They are 4, 7 and 8. A disappointment amongst a wonderful time at Ayodya.

Impressive building, the lobby is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Rooms need a refurb to bring them up to the lobby standards. Quite limited on breakfast options. Swimming pool restaurant leaves a bad taste with slow service and disappointingly unattractive and fad food. Nice to see a poo table next to the beach but can’t understand how a 5 star hotel can’t have proper que to play, so bad. Beach is amazing and the snorkelling is just a few steps away from the hotel.

We chose a traditional looking property rather than the modern hotels and it did not disappoint. We were in the Ayodya Palace which was like a hotel within a hotel and was set away from the larger area with its own pool, lounge area fir breakfast and cocktails and beach access. The staff were lovely and treated us on our birthday with a message, flowers and birthday cake. We really spolit and enjoyed our stay.
