Quiet & Comfortable
Only stayed one night as I was showing at the Great Yorkshire Show (7 miles away) The B & B was quite adequate for my needs. Very clean and comfortable. Very rural & quiet which suited me. Nice lady on breakfast duty.

2/10 Poor

Not impressed at all. cheap not chearful
Awful service couldn't get anyone to check us in. Eventually got a horse rider to find someone. They didn't know what room we were booked into so disappeared to check what rooms were twin beds. Saw three rooms that were dirty or broken showers b4 getting a OK room. Cups stained. Glasses dirty. Kettle full of mould and couldn't find anyone to help. Shower looked dangerous with exposed wires with electrical tape round it in the cubicle. Cold tap didn't work. Breakfast was cereal and toast only so don't expect much as it's very basic.

Simple, cheap, effective - and horses!
The other reviews are all pretty accurate in general. In short, if you want a cheap, basic, clean and friendly place to stay and get your head down - and you aren't fussed about not having a slick modern 'city centre' hotel room - then this works well. The staff (the few we met!) were friendly and welcoming, and it was easy to find despite being down a long lane - just watch for large vehicles coming the other way! As noted it's a working riding school so, yes, there are horses and the car park isn't pristine tarmac but there is loads of parking space. The view over the indoor riding area from the room corridor is definitely a bit different, as was looking out the window in the morning over the yard! Yes, the decor is a little tired (notably the bathroom in my twin room) but it was still clean overall, functional and (mostly) very quiet. I slept like a log. Breakfast was a little basic - the 'hot' options not getting any further than boiled/scrambled/poach egg on toast (whipped up from the corner kitchen and microwave, in full view!). The cold options were all the usual choices of cereal and yoghurts etc which was fine with me. The Wifi worked great and was free, which is a plus. To summarise: for the money, a great and welcoming stay with a bit of a different feel.

10/10 Exceptional

Competitively priced, unusual setting, nice stay
Perfectly happy with my overnight at this quirky b&b. By car it's about 10-15 minutes from Harrogate town centre (some via country lanes, so not really a walking route in the dark/evening), but the price to stay is reasonable enough to factor in a taxi if you're not driving yourself. Very reasonable, to be honest, as I stayed during a busy convention weekend and accommodation in Harrogate can get pretty pricey. Plenty of parking space, lots of open land- situated at an equestrian centre with horses stabled and training/exercising which made for something a bit different. Had everything you need of a B&B in your room- very comfortable bed, good wardrobe storage/hangers, kettle/tea/coffee, plug sockets (including one by the bed which newer developments always seem to neglect), full reception on the wide selection of TV channels, really good, reliable, free wi-fi and an en suite with a toilet, sink and a shower cubicle. Everything worked, everything clean. When you're only likely using a b&b as a base, at this price you can't really ask for more. Breakfast was included with a good selection of juice, cereals, pastries, cheese and fruit (probably more I didn't notice- I'm not a morning person) to help yourself to and your eggs, toast and hot drinks are served to you as you'd like. Seems like a family business and they were all really pleasant and friendly to me and went out of their way to ensure I was content at breakfast. I found it money well spent. Much appreciated- Thanks!

The rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable but it’s very out dated breakfast was either fruit, cereal or microwaved eggs not bacon or sausage not even fried eggs.

Simple but sufficient for a bed for the night
You get why you pay for and it’s basic, but overall I would say it’s worth it if you need a bed for the night at a cheap price relative to others in the area. There is a small bar here although I didn’t use it.

Well signposted and easy to find. Welcoming staff if a little disorganised. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Beds very comfortable but was woken up by guests arriving back in next room at 3.30 am who were loud and inconsiderate. Breakfast was OK but no choice of pastries left but we were offered eggs and toast which was nice. Nice view of surroundings and the stables from our window which was very pleasant.

Lovely location didn't realise was based on site of the riding school, it brought back memories for my partner Frank who had lovely chat about his horse riding as boy and ponderosa. Made to feel very welcome.

I booked a twin room to stay the night before my son went into the army. The staff were lovely and the rooms were clean and cosy. There was a good choice of continental breakfast. The views were beautiful and was lovely seeing all the horses. Will definitely be back

It was set in lovely surroundings and hearung the horses was really nice. Unfortunately the room was extremely basic and was a little worried about the electrics for the shower. The breakfast in the morning was a little poor.
