avoid if possible, super sketchy.
I'm not sure how this hotel is rated 8.4/10. It's super run down and pretty scary looking/feeling. The address is incorrect, they only accept cash and the area is super sketchy. Basically it's a 1/10 outside the room. The room inside is a 5/10, because it was clean. No hot water of course, no water in the room and a bunch of people coughing so hard all night and day it sounded terrible. during a pandemic definitely made me want to get out as fast as possible. Luckily it was just one night.

The Hotel D’Leon was pretty disappointing. It was almost impossible to find on Google Maps, it gave us 3 different addresses, and when we finally found it there was no proper reception and it was hard to check-in. The hotel was more of an apartment building that was still under construction. The lady that worked there told us that we had to check out today (it was 11:30pm on New Years Eve) I think she was joking but it really stressed us out. We were over charged for late check out, we tried to get our money back but the lady gave a long confusing explanation as to why we had to pay $400 pesos to stay 3 extra hours, it was easier to just leave and not fight it. Overall I suggest staying somewhere else, there are so many better options in Puerto Escondido.
