I recently stayed at the Marriott expecting a refreshing getaway centered around enjoying the pool. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a major disappointment. While the hotel boasts a premium price tag, upon arrival at the pool around 11 am, I was informed by staff that it was unusable for cleaning until after 4 pm. This significantly disrupted my plans for the day, as spending time by the pool was a major reason for choosing this hotel.
Disheartened, I decided to use the gym as an alternative. However, the gym was small and poorly equipped.
To add to the disappointment, the pool area itself was poorly maintained. The water dispenser offered not only lukewarm water, but also rancid-looking cucumbers floating inside. This was not what I expected from a supposedly high-class hotel.
I brought these concerns to the front desk, hoping for some form of follow up but no one did. At the check out, they offered a 10% discount on my bill, which felt dismissive. I wasn't looking for a discount, but rather an acknowledgement of the inconvenience and some effort to improve my stay.
Overall, my experience at the Marriott fell short of expectations on multiple levels. The unusable pool, the small and poorly equipped gym, and the inattentive service in addressing my concerns were all significant drawbacks.
