One poor pillow paper thin and poor shower
Bath was sited under the angle of the roof extremely difficult to get in and out. The combined tap and shower, however the shower hand held either gave boiling hot or cold it would not mix.

Homely
Shame place not open Monday and Tuesdays so can’t comment on service other than that they were great at the initial emails and the instructions were easy to follow. Nice room. Didn’t see where WiFi information was so can’t comment on WiFi. Enjoyed my stay. Felt homely. Loved being so close to the beach to go for a morning walk before I left.

6/10 Good

We stayed in Hurst the room was nice but having a hand held shower really put us off! Also the lack of any sound proofing. We could hear the next room having conversations and every car going by on the road! On a positive note we had dinner in the restaurant and the staff and food were amazing!

Enjoyable evening meal. Breakfast was overall good but no cereals or fruit on offer for guests staying at Pebble Beach and a slight issue over times, one note saying 8.30am when in fact it should have been 9pm.

Sunday night stay
We had the Penthouse and what a view and place it is, highly recommended, friendly staff great food. If you stay the Sunday night there is only continental breakfast next morning as they are closed Monday, in case you expect a cooked one! the Continental was fab by the way!

Lovely room, really helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Position on sea front couldn’t be better with direct access to lovely walks. Whilst food not available on Monday and Tuesdays, the Beachcomber was get for breakfast and only a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.

6/10 Good

Underwhelming unless you book the penthouse
The location of this B&B is superb but sadly that’s the best thing about it. It is clear that the overall rating is boosted by those people staying in the penthouse room which does look wonderful. Sadly those who haven’t chosen to spend money on that room are left with rooms that certainly don’t fit the advertised rating. Good things: the staff were welcoming, the facilities in the room great, and the car park is next door. On a summers evening the terrace bar would have been great, although this isn’t relevant on a winters evening. The restaurant looked okay, it was busy. but we chose to eat at the more relaxed cafe just along the road which was outstanding. Disappointing things: Purbeck is a loud room. Noise from the kitchen below & the next door pizzeria all evening and into the night, which then started again early in the morning, plus noise from the rooms next door as the walls are very thin. The air-con worked, but it was necessary because the room was hot and stuffy and the windows only opened at the top. No view… just frosted windows overlooking the side of the pizzeria next door, a bathroom that needed an update. The most frustrating factor was that despite saying on booking that we required hypo-allergenic bedding & calling that morning to check we were still given feather pillows! The receptionist admitted that they didn’t read the message through hotels.com. All in all not good value for money, but a great location and really nice staff running it.
