MEH!
Definitely asking to not be put by the supply closet next time! Ridiculous that they don't have some sort of sound barrier that deadend the sound of what sounded like the employees slamming the doors. It pretty much sounded like they were coming into our room! Not happy and very tired! The service and cleanliness was decent, but, excluding the room location, overall there are much better hotel choices. Really the only thing The Concourse has going for it is location. But, the location is why we continue to come back!

VERY clean. No bedbugs. Wish the pool was open, though. Would have booked a room poolside at the Governor's Club for that!

8/10 Very good

Always an amazing stay! We stay on the Club level to enjoy the Governors Club. It never disappoints with the atmosphere in the lounge! I will say that the rooms could use some updating to match the vibe given off by the rest of the hotel. Freshen the decor up a bit.

6/10 Good

Not terrible - not impressed.
Right out the gate - handed two room cards, one with some kind of dark sauce on it, perhaps foreshadowing(?). I was unlucky enough to be given a room next to both the elavators and housekeeping staff room. Loud at night with guests slamming doors close to midnight (why on earth don't "nice" hotels all have quiet-close doors?!), and then 6am, every single morning, the housekeeping staff slamming THEIR doors as they come in and out of rooms/the housekeeping staff room. The room itself was actually on the verge of disgusting - feet stuck to the floor - sink drain clogged - dust everywhere including the several visible power strips that really show the hotel's age. The gadget hub/charger by the desk was broken and dangling by a thin piece of wood - AC/heat thermometer must be failing because it was 20⁰ outside with a poorly insulated window and I had to set it to 73⁰ for the heat to kick in, in a room where I could almost see my breath. Had a drink at The Bar - staff were friendly and drinks were excellent; brought food to my room and it was great - no complaints there. I also had a not-so-friendly interaction with The Bar's manager but I can let it slide since they seemed a bit frazzled and maybe new to the hospitality game. It pains me a little to say it but my experience was unfortunately mediocre - maybe a cleaner room with a quieter location could make up for it but with so many options in the area I dont think I'll be returning next time.

Heart of Madison
Back home in Madison for a weekend. The Concourse location is fantastic. We walked State Street several times and to Monona Terrace for the winter Farmers Market. Be aware that parking is $18/day. It was still a good value when we stayed.

Elegance and Governor's Lounge
My wife and I stayed on the 12th floor Governor's Lounge for a night while we attended an event at the Orpheum Theater and explored the downtown area. The parking garage was very convient although low cielings with some spots as low as 5' 6". From the garage there are elevators that will take you to the lobby which we were greeted with an very nice and professional clerk who checked us in. The atmoshpere and elegance of the main lobby lounge was amazing during the holiday time and the lounge is also connected to a Starbucks. After checking in, we headed to our rooms on the 12th floor which you need to scan your keycard to get to that floor. The 12th floor Governor's Lounge included a floor exclusive lounge, library, and a kitchen where you can order food. The room itself was nice and spacious with some minor cosmetics blemishes. The only thing broken in our room was the toilet paper holder which didn't inconvenience us. The bed was comfortable too which is always a relief in a hotel. Overall, i would reccomended this hotel to anyone as the staff were very helpful and friendly and the overall atmoesphere is breathtaking. Also, the location is ideal for those who wish to explore the downtown area of Madison.
