I'm a former realtor in that area. It is a fast growing location with a college vibe. As part of the Tri-Cities region of NE Tennessee, it's a beautiful place.

It's a nice college town with very friendly people, many entertainment and dining options and it's just a short drive to Bristol Motor Speedway (20-30min).

Our son lives in Johnson City. Beautiful area. Any kind of restaurant you could want and lots of shopping options
"I booked this room through Expedia on a whim, and I am so glad I did. There was ample parking all around the hotel. The lobby is grand and well-appointed. The attached restaurant can deliver room service; both the dinner and breakfast were moderately priced. I have back problems and still found the bed comfortable. We had a campus view (we didn't even know there is a college across the street!) with huge windows from which you could see mountains in the distance. Now, we did have a problem with these windows from roof construction that happened during that day, but we were moved to a comparable room without the giant windows and offered a discount that both the hotel and Expedia worked quickly for me to recieve. An overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend."
"Comfortable bed with soft and firm pillows to choose. Convenient to anything you may need, shopping, grocery , pharmacy, restaurants etc.
Internet service all around Johnson City was a bit sketchy hit or miss. "
"I was a little concerned based on stars, but this Sleep Inn was much more than previously rated. Quick check-in and early, friendly staff, very clean room and beds, great breakfast. "
