Nice little hotel set on 14 acres backing up to the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Centrally located to Oscoda and Tawas, it was convenient to access the area’s features. The attached restaurant made dinner convenient after a tiring hike. The specials were very good. The free breakfasts were simple and convenient, however lacking in imagination. There was a heavy use of plastic including styrofoam cups that should be replaced with more eco-friendly utensils.

The room given hadnt been rented since Sept 14, we checked in Oct 11. Rm, beds were not made, toilet was full of poop. Was told there would be no charge, moved us to another rm, which we had to retrieve our own toilet paper, hand towel, wash cloths, coffee. When we went to shower the next morning, the shower had all the previous guests shampoo, wash cloths snd used soap in the shower. Tried to get a refund since we were told there would be no charge for the rm and was billed in full. The response was, " misunderstanding, Jillian mesnt there would be no charge to move us" what? Were we supposed to pay a cleaning fee, no charge to move us, out of a disgusting filthy room. Into a partially cleaned room.

    Birthday Bash

We're locals with two little boys who love swimming and the water slides at the hotel are a huge hit with them. The blue slide unfortunately has a very slow waterflow and doesn't work very well, but they didn't care, my oldest was just happy to be able to swim for his birthday. The room was lovely. Large, clean and comfortable. On personal note, I absolutely adore the fact that the Camp Inn Restaurant is a gluten-free friendly setting where they can accommodate such a serious dietary restriction on request. There is not a single restaurant in North East Michigan that I know of who will alternatively prepare their menu for a gluten intolerant customer and it is utterly invaluable to me. Not to mention - the food is delicious and generous portioned. We will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for such an amazing experience, the DiGiovanni family appreciates you.

    Camp Inn Weekend

The service every where was great. Food was good. Rooms big and contain refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, heater. I had to ask for missing towels. No curtain on window even though it faced towards trees it was open to anyone walking or playing in the back. Tub did not drain well so you stood in several inches of water. Toilet seat broken and one light out over the sink of three total lights so we could still see. Dark colors everywhere which made it hard to see. Especially in hallway. Water leakage from rains in carpeted area between back and front building by pool hallway. I think if they updated colors and bedspread it would be much better. Beds were fine.

    GOLF Tournament

Its not a bad place but the bathroom was not serviced prior to my arrival so used soap and no towels in the bathroom. However, the staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The second day, the rooom was not cleaned at all. Bed not maide, no fresh towels...nothing. However, not a bad location and the town is nice. Great place to visit.

This place was not worth the money they asked. Bed was hard as a rock, the room ugly, the breakfast meager and the pool area so uninviting and hideous we decided not to go there.

It is my understanding new management is taking over and will be doing upgrades to their pool, the property itself, and the breakfasts. All in all, everything was pretty good for the average traveler. The beds were very comfortable. This motel is across a busy highway from the beach (Lake Huron) but the surrounding area has beautiful beaches for everyone to enjoy. We plan to stay at this location when we are back in the area. I would recommend this location. Conveniently located to lots of activities in the area.

The pool looked really nice but I had forgotten a bathing suit so wasn’t able to check it out. The sheets and bedding looked clean but the floor was so stained I didn’t dare walk bare foot. The water pressure was low, so flushing the toilet was not easy. The air conditioner was not big enough for the room. Thank goodness it was a cooler night. The air had not been turned on so it was stifling when we walked in. The continental breakfast was crap for what we paid for the room. I really would not recommend

    Not on the Water

The pictures on-line were misleading....shows a beach and water so we thought we were on the lake this was not the case. The picture was of one of their other properties across the street. We did have access but it was a little inconvenient.
