Radisson RED Auckland
"Very good value for money, super comfortable king sized bed, like sleeping on a cloud. A shame we only stayed for a night. The AKA Rooftop bar/restaurant is in the same building which is handy. I love the styling, theme and decor of the whole hotel. Very well maintained. The Superior room shower had a rain shower head, it was bliss, not sure if all other rooms had the same. The morning buffet breakfast was lovely, we had a delicious savoury breakfast. I believe there was also some breads and pastry options as well as porridge."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Auckland
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Auckland is between May and July, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city's notable landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. Visitors can explore the vibrant port, enjoy shopping experiences, delve into museums, savour delightful dining options, and participate in guided tours. Additionally, the friendly locals, impressive monuments, and stunning volcanoes add to the great value for money that Auckland offers during this period.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Auckland on Hotels.com, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. To enhance your chances of securing savings, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications for flash sales and exclusive last-minute offers. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re more likely to see the best options available. With these tools, you could be the first to know about price drops or newly available rooms for your spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in an Auckland hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we will suggest alternative dates that are more affordable, increasing the likelihood that you may save.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive, but with Auckland's superb public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
