"Once you get to the property the staff were all wonderful but the communication prior to arrival was none no answers to any of my questions through Expedia. The city bus is across the street takes you into Florence for 2 euros but make sure you validate your ticket front of bus to avoid a hefty fine. I loved that we could cook breakfast before heading out and there is a grocery store onsite."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Florence

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly months to visit Florence are January, February, and November, when hotel prices are generally lower. To fully appreciate the city's rich history and culture, it is recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days. This duration allows visitors to explore iconic landmarks such as the magnificent cathedral, renowned museums, historic churches, and stunning architecture. Additionally, guests can enjoy charming cafes along the river and indulge in some shopping, all while finding great value for money in this enchanting city.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To explore last-minute deals to Florence, you may start by visiting the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you could find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com can help you stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, so you’re less likely to miss any savings opportunities. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re the first to know if prices drop or rooms become available for your spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could allow you to save on your stay in a Florence hotel. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we will notify you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, helping you to secure the best deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be pricier; however, thanks to Florence's superb public transport system, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
